刚进入国际课程的同学一定都对各种科目的题目、词汇深恶痛绝,因为在这个科目中有大量的长难句等着同学们来解答。下面以Alevel物理真题为例,给大家讲讲读懂这些问题的关键。

“its resistance increases by a factor of 16” 是什么意思?写一下这道题的过程,大家可以通过过程猜猜这句话是什么意思。
P=V²/R
100w=(240V)²/R
R=576Ω
increased by a factor of 16
R(room T)= 1/16* 576=36Ω
“its resistance increases by a factor of 16”增长了16倍
A student carries out an experiment to determine a value for g, the acceleration of free fall. A short wooden rod is released above a light gate. A timer connected to the light gate is used to measure the time taken for the wooden rod to pass through the light gate.
The experimental arrangement is shown.

light gate连接了一个timer,这个timer是用来干啥的?用来测量时间,谁的时间呢?就是wooden rod穿过light gate的时间(因为wooden rod有一定长度)

这句话中,其实有很多信息是作为修饰的,当我们把这些修饰的东西都拿掉
我们就可以知道这句话到底要讲什么了,用不同颜色把主要内容标出来,就变成:

能级之间的转换导致了光子释出,而在能级和光电效应部分,我们已经学过能量以电磁波的形式释放出来,适用于这道题,ABC所对应的的能量,分别是infrared,visible light和ultraviolet
ALL BUT ONE factor is believed to be the source of uncertainty…
all but = except (除了.... 以外), all but one = 除了其中一個以外其他的都 …..
some boats use a ballast tank, which is a refillable tank of water in the base of the boat, to improve stability.
ballast tank是压载舱,但你如果不知道这个词也没关系,因为题目中很快就用which引导,re-有『重新』的含义,代表可重复,fill填充,-able(可以怎样怎样的),连在一块儿refillable,能够·反复·填充的一个tank反复填充是要干嘛呢?to引导『目的』to improve stability:用来进阶稳定性
To make concrete suitable for use under large forces steel rod are embedded in the concrete.An external tensile force is applied to the steel rods. Concrete is poured into a mould around the rods. Once the concrete has set the external force is removed from the steel rods, placing the concrete in compression.

这句话的主要问题,在于断句,我们刚才说了to后面加『目的』to make也就是说我们后面的主句中的动作行为是要干嘛呢?是要make concrete suitable for use under large forces如果觉得断句不好断,就先找动词这句话里,make是动词,但它前面有个to,所以它叫『非谓语动词』;use,别搞混了,这里它当名词使唤;行了,剩下的动词,就是主句的谓语了就是are embedded被嵌入谁被嵌入?前面的名词是主语,steel rod被嵌入
所以拆出来,这句话就是
前一半:『为了』让混凝土(concrete)更适合于经受较大的承重力,
后一半(主句):钢筋就给嵌进(混凝土了)
Once the concrete has set the external force is removed from the steel rods, placing the concrete in compression.
这句话,跟刚才的一样,也是断句问题,我们可以按照刚才的方法,再试一试,先找动词
has set,从句中的动词
is removed 独自扛起主句的谓语大任
placing非谓语动词
找主语,是谁?对!the external force
主句层面上:the external force is removed from the steel rods(外力撤了,从谁上撤了,从steel rod上撤了)
从句:once the concrete has set
非谓语动词placing,ing形式表伴随
当混凝土(concrete)浇好了之后,外力就从钢筋(steel rod)上撤下来,从而混凝土就处在一个压缩(compression)状态下了。

这句话和第3句话有点类似,就是修饰非常多我们先把主要的东西用颜色提取出来

这句话,我们也试着来提取以下关键词,把句子的骨架建立起来,再往里填肉

预估的a和测量的a之间的difference

这个句型其实不难,但它覆盖了很多信息,语序和中文表达不太一样,我们一点一点来看看After the car passes, 车过去之后(车离接收者越来越远)
you notice that…(你注意到……)其实主句反而没有什么重要的,重要的在后面,注意到什么呢?
the horn doesn’t sound as loud as it did when it was near you
车喇叭的声音没有『离你近的时候』那么大了『』里面的字实际上是从句部分的补充内容,你在读题的时候,其实最好的方式就是按照英文的语序来。
