误区一：内容重复

很多导师的推荐信当中，会反反复复描述着相似的内容，比如关于你对学术的热爱，课程上的成绩等。

建议：

在找推荐导师之前仔细考虑想让申请学校看到的自己的特性。要知道，申请最重要的过程是“了解自己” 。了解自己应该被推荐的能力，从而找相关的推荐人。

误区二：夸大其词

推荐信中，让别人感觉推荐人和你关系好到你的一切他都知道。这样就感觉不是那么真实。例如：不是这个导师或者教授带你的项目，却在推荐信中却写出来你参加过的所有项目，像是翻译工具一样。

建议：

用客观的角度进行描述，依据只是发生在你们之间的事实来表达的。

误区三：内容冗长不简练

推荐信长度一般为半页到一页之间，只有特别熟悉、特别推荐时才有可能达到两页。写长句子凸显自己英文水平高，写作高大上。在英文写作中，大家普遍有一个这样的误区，认为句子越长，从句越多，表明我的语法高超，写作水平higher level。其实不是。

在英文写作中，有一个TWO-LINE RULE (两行法则)也就是说你写的句子不要超过(word打开时候默认设置)的两行，超过的话，你就把长句子断开，变成两个有逻辑联系的短句子。

建议：

切勿从句套从句，把句子断开，写作精简干练，表达逻辑思维清晰。
