不知道AP文学与写作作文怎么写？理想分大神告诉你只需要精读一本书

AP文学中的作文经常是很多考生头疼的部分，很多同学不知道AP文学与写作怎么写？也不知道如何下笔？下面就结合真题给大家讲讲同学们遇到这部分时怎么答。

AP文学写作的核心是指出XX和主题的关系比如：2015年Q3:

Then write awell-developed essay analyzing how cruelty functions in the work as a whole andwhat the cruelty reveals about the perpetrator（犯罪者） and/or victim.

这里有句话：how cruelty functions in the work as a whole或者再其他题目里更常见的： Then, in awell-written essay, analyze the motives for that character’s deception anddiscuss how the deception contributes to the meaning of the work as a whole. (2016年q3)

都是在问：残忍／欺骗等等这些点和小说主题的关系。

为什么要考主题相关的问题呢？

因为这类问题可以考察学员是否能够理解一本小说是如何围绕中心思想去组织细节去组织情节的。

这种类型的题目：encourage you to connect small details to big ideas

但是q1和q2侧重的literary device的分析比如：作者用了对比／比喻／narrator tones等体现了主人公的什么性格主人公和主人公的什么关系。

所以：Q1和Q2在于分析文学修辞，而Q3在于分析小说是如何围绕主题去组织信息的。（实际上Q2只有一个短短的节选肯定也无法体现正本小说的主题）

因此就2015年Q3来说，如果你只是写出来了主人公经历什么残忍的事情，或者对其他主人公做了什么残忍的事情，而不去分析这些残忍和文章主题的关系，是不可能得超过6分以上的分数的。

下面给大家以 GREAT GATSBY来讲什么是Theme 以及如何围绕theme来分析。

伟大的盖茨比发生的年代／背景：

in the1920s, a period when America’s economy was booming, and takes place in NewYork: specifically the wealthy Long Island towns of West Egg and East Egg, aswell as Manhattan and Queens.

我们注意到主要人物分别属于三个不同的阶层：working class, newly rich, and old money

因此阶层问题是伟大的盖茨比一个重要的话题另外努力想要提升自己阶级地位的主人公却最终以悲剧告终也提示我们所谓的美国梦实际也许只是一个虚幻。

Related tomoney and class, the fact that both Gatsby and the Wilsons strive to improvetheir positions in American society, only to end up dead, also suggests thatthe American Dream -- and specifically its hollowness -- is a key theme in thebook as well.

如果用这个主题去写2015年Q3 可以这样组织语言：

• 第一个body段盖茨比经历的第一个残忍：他爱上一个女的但是这个女的其实只喜欢old money. 并不是真的爱盖茨比。盖茨比的梦破碎

• 第二个body段盖茨比又被tom等人联合使手段杀死。

• 第三个body段给盖茨比造成残忍的人反而可以全身而退。讨论和主题之间的关系：美国梦本身的虚幻：盖茨比爱上的女人是虚荣物质没有真心的；虽然这个女的和TOM结合但是也是表面夫妻---TOM甚至有外遇了。而TOM对于外遇也并不是真心，为了维护自己的利益，他不惜间接把Wilson杀死。在20世纪初的美国，纸醉金迷，金钱利益之上，真情淡泊。

所以Q3实际上让你写的是：整本小说关于cruelty的描写是如何体现美国梦的虚幻。

因为盖茨比的主题有很多比如：

Money and Materialism／Society and Class／The American Dream／Love, Desire,and Relationships／Death and Failure／Morality and Ethics／The Mutability of Identity

所以这个题就可以变成：

Money and Materialism: Everyone inthe novel is money-obsessed, whether they were born with money (Tom, Daisy,Jordan, and Nick to a lesser extent), whether they made a fortune (Gatsby), orwhether they’re eager for more (Myrtle and George). theme的书写切记简单化。实际上就像AP文学其他题目一样“简单化”是你得6分以上作文的敌人：2016年Q2 让你去分析父女关系你写：父亲嫌弃女儿女儿过分遵从父亲。难道这份嫌弃里没有父亲对女儿的期许和爱？女儿对父亲的遵从里面没有对父亲的胆怯？拿2015年Q3举例子：整本小说关于cruelty的描写是如何体现美国梦的虚幻？。你不能直接说：盖茨比喜欢一个女的但是却被这个女的丈夫间接杀死。然后你描述一下这个盖茨比是如何被杀死的。最后写：美国梦是不可能实现的虚无。这样写你的作文几乎1-2个body段就可以解决问题根本不可能写600字以上。

• 首先请分析题目关键字：cruelty 残忍。

• 小说中主人公都经历了什么残忍？只有一个吗？还是有若干个？彼此之间的关系是什么？

• 小说中主人公是残忍的实施者还是残忍的受害者？或者两者兼而有之？

• 小说中如果主人公是残忍的实施者那么在实施残忍之前他是什么样的人经历过什么事情他为什么要实施残忍？实施的结果是什么？受害人怎么样了？---说明了什么问题？---和主题的关系

• 小说中如果主人公是残忍的受害者那么在被残忍之前他是什么样的人经历过什么事情最终残忍让他变成了什么样子？实施残忍的人为什么要对他实施残忍？这个人最终怎么样了？---和主题的关系。
