屡次获奖！诺德安达硬核少年团征战FIRST国际机器人大赛FIRST World Championship

堪称机器人比赛最大盛会的FIRST国际机器人竞赛，每年都会在美国休斯顿举行了全年龄组总冠军赛。

70多个国家， 1400支队伍，70000多名各国选手，齐聚一堂，在一周内完成近千场比赛。上千只设计精巧的机器人，同场竞技。选手必须时刻准备临场组成联盟、相互配合、调试程序和急修硬件！难怪，这项拥有30多年历史的比赛成为了机器人爱好者每年都不会错过的科技盛会。

我们诺德安达的学子们凭借不断积累的专业能力和磨合良好的团队协作能力，在FIRST总冠军赛的车轮大战中发挥出了出色的水平。赛场上冷静的判断和良好的团队协作自然也离不开平时大小比赛的考验。

来自机器人社团的同学们多次征战FIRST机器人大赛，可以说是赛场上的常客了。经过他们持续不断的努力与突破，取得了非常不错的成绩，其中就有2019 FIRST科技挑战赛上海邀请赛一等奖、二等奖和激励奖、2019 FIRST科技挑战赛香港站第二名、2019 FIRST科技挑战赛四川区域邀请赛二等奖、2019 FIRST科技挑战赛山东邀请赛三等奖、2018 FIRST全球挑战赛中国赛区选拔赛联络奖第一名，亚军联盟队长等卓越奖项。

FIRST 比赛在全球科创界知名度颇高，全球3500家赞助商，包括如波音、谷歌、IBM，NASA等都参与了赛事赞助，并积极地从FIRST的名录中吸纳人才。在美国麻省理工大学，每9个学生中就有1个参加过FIRST比赛。顶尖名校如麻省理工、耶鲁大学等也为该赛事提供超过8000万美元的奖学金。

诺校十分鼓励我们的学生积极参与国际赛事，学生不仅可以提升自身的专项技能，增加自身竞争力，对于许多将来需要申请出国深造的学生而言更是有很大帮助。

自上海诺德安达双语学校创校以来，我们一直积极展开各项课外活动，涵盖文化、学术、运动、表演艺术等方面，帮助学生挖掘和发展兴趣爱好。由哈佛和MIT科技企业高管背景校友创立的Ivy Marker作为我校的合作方，以“产出国际专业的高影响力作品”和“能打比赛”的硬核成绩出名，为我校学生开发了大量科技与创意项目，带来神奇的效果提升，其中就包括此次的机器人大赛的指导培训。

在课程设置上，我们还将在不断完善已有课程的同时，寻求新的突破，力求为学生们提供更加丰富全面的STEAM课程。今年，我校学生将有机会接触6门STEAM课程，其中包括大受学生欢迎的动漫游戏编程与AI介绍与Python编程。当然还有锻炼设计思维的3D打印技术与Minecraft三维模型制作。王牌机器人项目下涵盖有机器人编程与机器人设计建模这两大板块，为FTC机器人比赛做准备。

我们学校还会发展更多的校内以及与校外机构合作的课外项目，帮助学生挖掘各个方面的潜力。相信我们的学生能在不同的方面挖掘自己的潜能，挑战自我，实现跨领域技能的全面发展，为今后的发展打下扎实的基础。

NACIS Students Shine on the FIRST World Championship

For 30 years, FIRST® (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology), the grandest gathering for global teenager robot competitors, has inspired millions of young people to reach new heights.

More than 70,000 competitors from over 70 countries traveled to Houston, putting their innovation skills to the test at the annual FIRST Championship.

NACIS students have played an outstanding role in the FIRST world championship by virtue of their accumulated professional skills and good teamwork skills. Calm judgment and good teamwork on the field are also inseparable from the experience gained from various games.

Students from the robot club have participated in the FIRST robot competition for many times. Through continuous efforts, they have achieved many outstanding awards, including the first prize of 2019 FIRST challenge -Shanghai Invitational Tournament, second science and technology and incentive prize, the second prize of 2019  FIRST challenge of science and technology-Hongkong Invitational Tournament, the second prize of 2019 FIRST challenge - Sichuan Invitational Tournament, the third prize of 2019 FIRST challenge tournament- Shandong Invitational Tournament, the first contact prize of 2018 FIRST Global challenge in China and the second league captain, etc.

FIRST competition enjoys a high reputation in the global scientific and creative community. 3500 sponsors around the world, including Boeing, Google, IBM and NASA, have participated in the sponsorship of the competition and actively recruited talents from FIRST's list. At the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, one out of every nine students have participated in the FIRST competition. Top universities such as MIT and Yale also offer more than $80 million in scholarships.

NACIS encourages students to participate in international competitions. Students can not only improve their special skills and enhance their competitiveness, but also be of great help to many students who need to study abroad in the future.

Since the establishment of NACIS, we have been actively carrying out various extracurricular activities in cultural, academic, sports, performing arts and other aspects to help students explore and develop their interests and hobbies. Our partner, Ivy Marker Founded by Harvard and MIT technology executives, is famous for "high output of international professional influence work" and "winning competitions”. They have developed a large number of technology and creative projects for our students and help them improve greatly, including training for the robot competition.

In terms of curriculum setting, we will continue to improve current courses and seek for new breakthroughs to provide students with more rich and comprehensive STEAM courses. 

This year, our students will have access to 6 STEAM courses, including animation game programming and AI introduction and Python programming, 3D printing to exercise design thinking and Minecraft 3D modeling. Ace robot project covers two major sections, namely robot programming and robot design and modeling, to prepare for FTC robot competition.

We will also develop more internal and external extracurricular programs to help students explore their potential in all aspects. We believe that our students can play their potential in different aspects, challenge themselves, achieve cross-field skills and lay a solid foundation for future development.
