

咦,最近的中学部校园里,为什么多了一些小学部小学弟小学妹的欢声笑语?你是否以为自己走进了过去的时光?其实,他们是来自“灯泡”俱乐部的学生们,他们来到了中学的课堂提前来体验一下中学的学习生活,而悉心为他们授课的老师,则是中学部的学长学姐们。
Recently on our campus, why more than a few primary school younger brother primary school sister's laughter? Do you think you're walking into the past? In fact, they are students from the "light bulb" club. They come to the secondary class to experience the learning life of secondary school in advance, and the teachers who teach them carefully are the secondary senior students.
灯泡俱乐部(Light bulb club)是由中学部学生Joy Zhuang(创始人)和Kevin Xu(联合创始人)创办的教育工作坊,他们由中学生担任教师角色,教授和指导五年级学生的学习创造力、解决问题能力和批判性思维等重要的课外技能,并以此激发学生探索世界以及参与社会实践的兴趣、能力。此举开创了浦东协和跨部教育与学术合作的先例,在小学生们尚未踏入中学学习生活之前,悄然撩拨开“传说中”的中学生活朦胧且带点儿神秘的面纱。
Bulb Club (Light bulb club) is A Level of the international stream secondary students Joy Zhuang (Founder) and Kevin Xu IG1 students planning (Co-Founder) jointly established the education workshop, they by high school teachers' roles, professor and guide the G5 students' creativity, critical thinking and problem solving ability important extracurricular skills, and to stimulate students' interest to explore the world and participate in social practice, ability. The move sets a precedent for inter-ministry education and academic collaboration at SUIS Pudong, quietly lifting the veil of the "legendary" secondary school life before students have even entered secondary school.



2019年4月,灯泡俱乐部首度招生,5月初第一次开课,目前已拥有40名来自5年级各班的学生。他们的授课在每日上午于中学部教室进行,课堂教学方式、作业等均采用中学模式,以此帮助五年级毕业生提前体验、适应即将到来的中学生活。而且每周的社会实践作业的形式不仅锻炼学生的思维能力,更鼓励他们亲近真实的社会和世界,用各自的方法从事力所能及的善举和好事。
In April 2019, the bulb club enrolled students for the first time, and started its first class in early May. Their teaching is conducted in the secondary classroom every morning, and the classroom teaching methods and homework are all adopted in the secondary school model, so as to help G5 graduates to experience and adapt to the coming secondary school life in advance. Moreover, the form of weekly social practice homework not only exercises students' thinking ability, but also encourages them to get close to the real society and the world, and to engage in kindness and good deeds within their capacity in their own ways.
目前灯泡俱乐部开设了三门学科:社会学、科技和艺术。
The bulb club currently offers three subjects: sociology, technology and the arts.





社会学工作坊——旨在积极培养学生努力探索、分析、解决他们这个年龄段可能面临的社会问题的能力。小老师们每周都会给出一个不同的话题进行讨论,例如贫困人群、各种犯罪、环境污染、医疗保健等现实社会面临的种种问题,利用社会学、哲学、心理学方面的知识讨论其成因、可能的发展变化及其结果,并通过角色扮演让学生感同身受各种具体场景;然后又通过学生自己亲历各项调查,且汇聚总结,进而持不同观点的同学通过彼此激烈而严谨的辩论,最终讨论得出解决方案。同时在生活中付诸实际行动,比如通过参与慈善活动等方式,为社会做出自己小小的贡献。两位担任社会学的小老师分别是联合创始人Kevin Xu和来自8年级的学生Ariel Cao。Ariel不仅历史地理成绩优异,且拥有出色的哲学思维能力,Kevin则更精通文史哲及宗教,并曾周游过廿余个国家,见识阅历丰富。


Sociology Workshop aims to actively cultivate students' ability to explore, analyze and solve the social problems they may face at this age. Teachers give a different topic every week which will be discussed, such as poor people, all kinds of crime, environmental pollution, such as health care the problems facing the social reality, using the knowledge of sociology, philosophy, psychology, discuss the causes and possible development change and as a result, and through the role playing to let the students empathy specific scenes; Then, through students' own experience of various surveys, and the gathering of conclusions, students with different points of view through fierce and rigorous debate with each other, finally came to the solution. At the same time, put into action in life, such as participating in charity activities, to make a small contribution to society. The two teachers in sociology are Kevin Xu, deputy chief planner, and Ariel Cao, a G8 student. Ariel is not only excellent in history and geography, but also has excellent philosophical thinking ability. Kevin is more proficient in literature, history, philosophy and religion. He has traveled to more than 20 countries and has rich knowledge and experience.




科技工作坊——目的在于带动学生扩充并利用已知的科学知识,通过自己动手参与实验,在历经多次实验,并在失败中总结经验,从而制造出会动、会飞、会游、会发光的各种新奇小发明。我们坚信,每个孩子天生都是发明家,具有着无穷的想象力和探索精神,所以应当鼓励他们动手创造求新,而非终日沉浸于题海战术之中。两位科技老师分别是来自7年级的Doudou Gao和来自8年级的Bob Wu。Doudou擅长模型制作、美术创作与思维导图,因经常修理、调试帆船部件而娴熟于机械学;Bob从5岁起就热爱各种科技制作,他经验丰富,且业余热衷钻研军事、城市规划、交通布局等各个方面,足以为孩子们的科技创新提供诸多灵感。


Science and Technology Workshop, the purpose is to drive students to expand and use the known scientific knowledge, through their own hands to participate in the experiment, after many experiments, and in the failure of the experience, so as to create a moving, flying, swimming, luminous all kinds of novel inventions. We firmly believe that every child is born to be an inventor, with infinite imagination and spirit of exploration, so they should be encouraged to create and seek new ideas, rather than immersed in the sea of tactics. The two technology teachers are Doudou Gao from G7 and Bob Wu from G8. Doudou is good at model making, art creation and mind mapping. He is skilled in mechanics because he often repairs and debugs sailing parts. Bob has been interested in all kinds of technological production since he was 5 years old. He has rich experience, and he is fond of studying military affairs, urban planning, transportation layout and other aspects in his spare time, which can provide many inspirations for children's technological innovation.









目前“灯泡”俱乐部第一期的教学实践得到了参与项目的五年级师生的一致好评,学生们积极投入实践活动并极富自主的思想意识。
So far Light Bulb Club receives nearly unanimous praise from Grade 5 teachers and students who participate in it. Students are generally active in real-world practice and possess impressive individual thinking.




联合创办人、总策划Joy Zhuang表示:“设计每一堂课、每一项作业、每一项评分标准,都需要缜密思考如何既保持趣味,又培养学生的各方面思维能力;既不能让过高的难度磨灭学生的热情,又能让学生体验战胜挑战、超越自我的喜悦。这项重任挑战了每一位老师的创造力和综合分析能力,就个人而言,我感到自己的收获比我的学生还要多。”
According to Co-Founder Joy Zhuang, “When we planned every lesson, as-signment and mark scheme, we had to consider carefully about many standards we set: How to both keep it interesting and make sure it trains a variety of thinking skills; how to enable students to experience the joy and pride of overcoming challenges, while not discouraging their interest through unrealistic standards. This process challenged the creativity and analytical skills of every LBC teacher. Personally I feel I have learned and gained more than my students.”


6月21日,灯泡俱乐部在图书馆举办了盛大的Project Fair(学生作品展),展示所有参与学生的各项作品和成果。出乎所料的是,师生们对此次展示会热情异常,现场参观者人数暴满。低年级的小朋友们驻足观展、兴致盎然,留恋展厅迟迟不愿离去。而灯泡俱乐部的学生们,即作品的小制作者们,也站在自己的杰作旁,为小朋友们解说分享自己的创作过程与灵感。“哥哥,这个太阳能烤炉真的能把羊肉串烤熟吗?”“姐姐,你的画是不是模仿莫奈的《睡莲》呀?”,面对小朋友们纷纷的议论和好奇的提问,“灯泡”俱乐部的学长学姐们为他们作耐心解答,在与小弟弟小妹妹地热情互动和交流学习的过程中,不仅提升了自信心,明白了榜样的力量,也收获了纯洁的友谊。低年级小朋友纷纷赞赏哥哥姐姐们极富创意的作品。一位前来参观的一年级的小女孩儿表达了她的喜欢程度,甚至希望能买下哥哥姐姐的作品;很多小朋友都表示以后也要像哥哥姐姐那般有创新思维和创造能力,向他们学习致敬。
On 21 June, LBC hosted the huge Project Fair in the library to exhibit various masterpieces made by all the LBC students. Unexpectedly all the staff and stu-dent visitors showed great passions. The fair was full of people. Numerous younger primary students observed carefully, felt impressed, stood there for a long time and were unwilling to leave. The LBC students, the designers of the projects, were standing next to their projects and presented their inspirations, ideas and whole processes of construction to the audience. “Is your Solar-Powered Barbecue Grill really gonna work?““Is your artwork inspired by Monet?”……Faced by the younger students’ curiosities and questions, the older brothers and sisters of LBC answered them one by one patiently. During the process of interactive discussion and learning from each other, they not only improved their confidence and understood the force of good examples, but also received friendships. Our students all received praise for their excellent works. One of the visitors from Grade 1 loved some works so much that she hoped she could buy and keep the masterpieces. Countless kids said they want to learn from LBC students so they could be as creative as them in the near future.
展览结束后,在报告厅隆重举行了本学期的“灯泡”结业典礼,辅导老师(即中学部的学长学姐们),为他们的39位学生颁发了结业“证书”,充分肯定了期间他们的学习成果与优异表现,令人倍感欣慰。在结业典礼上,学生代表G5 Tiger的Emily Chan同学在致辞中表示,当她刚步入中学部的教室上第一堂课时,因为进入了一个陌生的环境,一下子变得胆小而害羞。但是接下来发生的一切,实在是太有趣、精彩了,使自己更加轻松自在,并找回了自信,大胆地放开自我,与课堂融合在一起,自己之前的担心都是多余的。她在接受和享受“灯泡”课堂的同时,也学会了如何勇于面对困难、大胆挑战自我、坚定不移地追逐自己的梦想。
At the end of the fair, the school hosted the solemn LBC Graduation & Award ceremony in the auditorium. LBC teachers rewarded their 39 students with certificates of completion for their excellent performances during studies. In her speech as student representative, Emily Chan from G5 Tiger mentioned that she had a panic attack when she ever stepped into the tutor classroom because of the unfamiliar situation, so she kept herself timid. But the class was just so interesting and fascinating, she got involved quickly, became relaxed, found confidence and participated boldly. Emily really enjoyed every class at LBC, while she learned to make a stand to the world's problems, to challenge herself, and to be brave to achieve her goals.





对于“灯泡”将如何在下学期继续照亮更多的小学生们?总策划Joy Zhuang表示:“除了5年级,我们也将会招收4年级学生;与此同时,我们打算在学期初即开课,增加每个科目的学时数,并希望留给学生更多时间准备自己的展品;课程方面,我们希望能在教室以外,亲自带领学生进行更多实践活动,特别是社会课;我们也将更多参与学校的慈善活动,在大型活动中拍卖一些学生的艺术、科技展品,并鼓励大家为学校寻找且推广新的资助对象 ! ”
How would LBC continue to shine over more and more primary kids in the next semester? Co-founder, Director Joy Zhuang answers: “ We will enroll students from Grade 4 as well as Grade 5; we plan to launch classes at the beginning of the next semester rather than in the last 2 months, and increase the class periods for each subject. We will provide more weeks for students to make their own projects. As for the curriculum, we will organize and lead students in more real-world practice outside the classroom, especially for Society. We are also going to actively participate in the school’s charity activities, by raising money from auctioning students’ Art and Technology works in big fairs, and encouraging everyone to discover and advocate new targets for funding.”

联合创办人、副总策划Kevin Xu表示:“我们都知道,没有人点亮了灯去放在斗底,人点灯一定是为了放在灯台上,好照亮一屋子的人,更多的人。“灯泡”的目的,就是点亮智慧,让每一个人成为一盏盏明灯,去照亮世界,照亮他人。学到了知识,锻炼了技能,这只是一个启程,就比如社会课,让学生们面对现实社会中的所存在的种种问题,用自己的智慧去分析、解析问题之根源,力求尝试寻找解决问题的方案,包括以实际行动去献出微薄之力,让光亮也能照到各个地方,逐渐认清这个世界本源,初步担当起世界公民的责任。”
Finally, as a summary of LBC’s ideology and a final note to students, Co-founder, Assistant Director Kevin Xu says: “As we all know, do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl to cover its light? No, they put it on a lamp stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. ‘Light Bulb’ is for lighting the wis-dom in hearts, making students be the light of the world. Learning knowledges and experiencing are just a starting line. For example, Society is about to make people face to the various problems which are existing in the reality, using their wisdom to analyse the origin, trying the best of abilities to find the solutions, and taking real action by themselves. LBC’s ultimate goal is to make the light shine everywhere in the darkness, to recognise the world clearly and take the responsibilities of a global citizen.”
这一期虽然已经结业,可学无止境,学习不仅仅是为了应付作业、考试,不仅仅为了升学和以后的职业。学习的终极目标,应该是去追寻真理,拥有一颗向往真理的心! 从目前而言,学生们即将升入中学,不忘自己的初心,始终要记得自己为何要学习。为人处世,如何做小弟弟小妹妹的榜样,从自己做起从而影响他人。从长远的来说,教育的希望总在更年轻的人,他们将担当起掌管世界、引领未来的责任。
Although they have finished the courses they picked, there’s no end for learn-ing. Learning is not just dealing with classes, assignments and exams. Learning is not just for applying a well-known college and finding a nice job. The ultimate purpose of learning is pursuing the truth. Presently, their transition to secondary school will be coming soon. They are going to shine as good examples before their younger brothers and sisters, and always remember what they are studying for. More importantly, they are the young generation who are going to lead the future for many, many years to come.
