  • 拥有多年丰富的舞台经验,曾担任过舞台经理、灯光技师、导演及演员,对现场表演有着强烈的热情,及丰富的戏剧制作经验

您能介绍一下学校的表演艺术课吗?

Could you give us a general introduction of NACIS performing art? What do we teach?


从一年级到九年级,学生们学习戏剧、舞蹈和音乐。在IB阶段,学生可以学习戏剧、音乐或视觉艺术,我们希望在未来几年可以开设IB舞蹈课。


诺德安达集团全球校园也为学生提供了丰富的线上资源,我们的学生可以与来自66所姐妹学校的66000名学生在线上分享学习心得,也可以与来自茱莉亚学院的老师进行互动。


在全球少数几个茱莉亚官方夏令营举办地中,上海诺德安达双语学校就是其中之一。在为期两周的学习中,我们的学生们可以获得来自世界级音乐人的一对一演奏指导,乐器演奏能力、音乐诠释能力和临场表演技巧可以得到很大的提高。

All the way from G1 to G9, students study Drama, Dance and Music. At IB level, students can study Drama, Music or Visual Arts, and we hope to offer Dance IB in the next couple of years.


As Juilliard’s only summer programme partner, Nord Anglia Education has provided our students with unique art learning experience. NACIS Shanghai is among the few schools to hold the summer programme.


During the two weeks’ intensive study, students can receive multiple private lessons with Juilliard artist faculty. These opportunities to have one-on-one sessions with world-class musicians focused on raising students’ technical, artistic, and performance skills.

表演艺术课的亮点在哪儿?学生能从中收获什么?

What do you think is the best part of perform art? What can our student benefit from it?


每个学生,无论是崭露头角的乐者、演员或舞者,还是有些害羞的学生,都可以从优质的表演艺术教育中有所收获。在学习中,学生可以运用自己以及同学的创意,创造出优秀的作品,在培养创造力的同时,提升自信心和协作能力。


随着年龄的增长,学生可以通过学习艺术史,更加深入地去体验艺术的无穷魅力。

Every student, whether a budding musician, actor or dancer, or a student who feels a little bit shy can benefit from a good arts education. Students practice their creativity, learning to use their ideas and the ideas of their classmates to make work they can be proud of! 

Their confidence blossoms and their collaboration skills are used improved every lesson! As they get older, students can study different elements of arts history, always through trying things out and learning by doing!

Could you talk about our collaboration with Julliard? Are we creating our own way of teaching based their program? Could you give us an example?


茱莉亚-诺德安达表演艺术课是中、小学的核心课程,旨在培养和促进学生的文化素养、创造力、批判性思维及协同合作精神。我们融入了茱莉亚学院的传统与专长以及艺术理念,同时也融入了我们自己独特的教学模式。


比如,在六年级戏剧课上,我们探究了手工影院出品的戏剧《魔幻城市》。同学们关上灯,拿出手电筒,尝试用影子和木偶来讲述故事。通过沉浸式教学来激发学生的想象力和创造力。

Juilliard builds a key part of our curriculum, throughout primary and secondary. The focus of our collaboration is all about developing creativity and the students responding to different ideas. 


For example, in Grade 6 Drama, we look at a piece of theatre called ‘The Magic City’ by Manual Cinema. This piece uses shadow and puppets to tell their story, so we turn off the lights, get out the torches and try it ourselves!

表演艺术与其他学科如何有机融合?

How does performing art link with other subjects?


表演艺术与其他学科有着密不可分的联系。在教学过程中,联系最紧密的是英语学科——我们要求学生运用英语进行表演,这将很大程度上提高他们的听说能力。无论是使用现成的剧本还是自己编写台词,学生都在学习用第二语言进行艺术的表达。另外,舞蹈与体育也和表演艺术有着密切的联系,同学们在舞蹈中学习热身技巧,在体育活动中学会强健自己的身体。除了这些之外,学生在课堂中收获的自信将带领他们更加主动地去探索其他每一门学科。


明年,我们将结合其他三门艺术学科,以及视觉艺术,带来上海诺德安达的首部音乐剧《亚当斯家族》,提升学生的跨学科学习能力及舞台表演能力。

The key link is with our English department – students are asked to perform in English, which really pushes their speaking and listening skills! Whether using a published script or coming up with their own words, students are learning to express in a second language! Dance has strong links with Sport, learning about how to warm-up and how to look after the body during physical activity. Alongside these links, a student’s confidence to try new ideas will benefit them in every subject!


As a department, Performing Arts closely work together. Next year we will perform the first NACIS Musical of The Addams Family, a collaboration between the 3 subjects within our department, with a little help from Visual Arts too!

如何鼓励害羞的学生展示自己最好的一面?

For students who are a little bit shy, how do we encourage them to showcase the best of themselves?


在所有表演艺术科目中,我们努力营造一种积极的的氛围,鼓励学生敢于冒险。做好充分的学习准备后,我们会帮助学生们逐渐走出舒适区。首先,要真正了解学生——一些学生需要在一开始给予一些鼓励,而另一些学生则需持续不断的支持。


其次,作为老师,我们在学生面前要做好表率,敢于尝试,勇于承担风险,并让他们知道,即使有时候事情不会按照既定的计划进行,也没有关系。通过日常的关心和不断的鼓励,让学生感受到温暖,并建立自信心,积极展示自己的智慧和艺术才能。

In all performing arts subjects, we strive towards a positive and supportive atmosphere, where students feel safe to take risks. Once this is in place, we work with students to slowly move out of their comfort zone. 


We also know get to know our students really well – some students just need a little push; others need a lot of encouragement. Finally, as teachers we take risks and we try different things in front of the students – we let them know it’s okay if it doesn’t go to plan!

Do you think you can get inspired from your students? During performing art lessons, what is the best relationship between teachers and students?


我一直认为,一个老师最大的错误就是认为自己是课堂中最聪明的人。老师确实可能有更多的经验,但学生的想法和创意总会给我们带来不一样的惊喜。


学生和老师之间最好的关系是大家是一个团队,始终携手合作。同时,作为老师,要为学生创造出最好的作品提供必要的支持。

I have always believed that the biggest mistake a teacher can make it to assume they are the most intelligent person in the room. Teachers may have more experience and more knowledge, but students constantly amaze us with their ideas and their originality! 

The best relationship between students and teachers is one where they are working as a team, with the teacher supporting the student to create their best!

九月份,二期校园的新剧院会投入使用,您对新设施有什么期望? 您希望在新剧院尝试开展哪些新的教学活动?

We are going to have a much bigger theatre in September, what is your expectation for the new facility? Is there any new teaching activity that you hope to try out?


在新剧院建造的过程中,我一直积极参与,希望新剧院能成为学生表演的最佳场所。我在许多剧院有着多年的工作经验,我们学校新剧院的设施已接近专业水平。我非常期待使用那些崭新的专业设备,比如音响设备、照明设备、LED屏幕和舞蹈地板。


同时,我希望能在新校舍中引导学生学习并使用所有设备,并开展以学生为主导的表演秀。


新学期我们还会推出每月一次的表演活动-周五论坛,为学生提供更多机会,展示他们在课堂内外的学习成果。

I have been involved in the new theatre throughout the process, helping to make it the best place for our students to perform. I have worked in many theatres over the years, and the new facilities are nearing a professional standard. The sound equipment, lighting equipment, LED screen and sprung floor stage are just some of the facilities that I am very excited to use. 


I plan to help students learn to use all the equipment so that shows can become fully student led! Next year we will also launch Friday Forum – a once a month performance event for students to show off what they have been doing in lessons and ECAs.
