Earlier in the year, the ECE Community was able to raise 100,000 RMB through the Third Annual Charity Art Auction. This year, these funds were transferred to Heart to Heart Shanghai, a wonderful charity that provides support and financial assistance to underprivileged children.
We were delighted to receive news that two of our sponsored children had just finished their surgeries and are now well on their way to full recovery! On Thursday last week, we were invited to drop by Yodak hospital for a visit, and personally meet 7 year old Gong Jue Song Lang, and 18 year old Ren Zeng Zhuo Ma.
For three years now, this initiative has been a massive success, and it has been made possible only through the hard work, generosity, and continued support of our students, parents, faculty, and community sponsors.
Founded in 2003, Heart to Heart Shanghai is a local non-profit community which sponsors impoverished Chinese children from rural areas for heart surgery. Families supported often generate little more than 3000-6000 RMB annual household income, a far cry from the 25,000 RMB average cost of a child’s heart surgery.
