It was a real pleasure welcoming back our faculty to school campuses yesterday. There was a sense of excitement and an eagerness to return to on-campus teaching and support our student’s eventual return.

As we look to return to a new normal, the focus will remain on the health and wellbeing of our entire community, from our students, parents, and teachers, to our administrators, assistants, and support staff. There will be challenges ahead as we adapt to this unique school year, yet we are confident that we will succeed through the combined strength, support, and commitment of our entire school community.

Return to Campus

Following our approval for a return to campus, our leadership and operations team have been hard at work ensuring no detail is overlooked for a safe and healthy return to campus learning. Our faculty returning to campus marks an important step in the process that will lead to more SCIS members resuming on-campus learning. 

At different intervals, we will welcome back students by grade levels according to the following schedule:

• Grades 10 & 12: Wednesday, May 6

• Grades 9 & 11: Monday, May 11

• Grades 4-8: Monday, May 18

• All other grade levels will have return to campus announcements made once we have confirmation from the SEC and District Educational Bureaus.

Blended Learning

As we look towards resuming on-campus learning this week, we will maintain our commitment to our learners both in and outside China. Through an arrangement we call, ‘Blended Learning’ all students will be fully engaged in meaningful learning experiences through a combination of virtual learning and on-campus learning.

We remain humbled by the resiliency, flexibility, and the abundance of care shown by all members of our community and look forward to what’s to come. 

We are all very excited to welcome our Grade 10 and 12 students tomorrow and to be together once again as a community.
