Nord Anglia School Shenzhen held an online Virtual Open Day on March 15 (Sunday).

There was great interest in NAS Shenzhen Open Day with many parents attending. Additionally, there was great participation from parents during the Q and A session that occurred at the end of the Virtual Open Day.

问题：诺德安达的双语教育优势体现在哪些方面？

Q:What are the advantages of Nord Anglia's bilingual education?

首先双语教育是指学校为学生们提供融中西教育理念精粹的全新多元教育，学校将严格实施国家九年义务教育课程标准，与此同时，融入受到全球广泛认可的国际化教学方法及国内外优质的教育资源。让学生在深耕母语文化的同时提供给学校沉浸式英语环境，为未来的学习深造做好准备。

双语教育就意味着你在我们学校授课语言为中文和英文，以数学课为例，中方老师着重于知识的教导，使用中文授课，孩子更容易理解和吸收数学知识来提升孩子的数学学科认知水平，而外方老师通过英语教授数学，更侧重于引导学生如何通过数学课上学到的知识，去解决实际生活问题，提升学生的动手和实践能力。同时兼顾了知识渊博和运用技能的同步培养。

Bilingual education means that Nord Anglia School Shenzhen provides a new and diversified education that integrates the essence of Chinese and Western ideology. The school will strictly implement the Chinese compulsory education curriculum and standards, and at the same time, integrate internationally recognized teaching methods and high-quality educational resources worldwide.

Bilingual education also means that both Chinese and English are taught, and used as the language of instruction.

For example: In a math class, the National teacher focuses on teaching mathematics knowledge in Chinese, so children understand easier and absorb the mathematics knowledge and enhance children's mathematics cognitive level, while the international teachers, through teaching mathematics in English, focus more on guiding students and improving their knowledge base of learning how to use mathematics to solve real world problems, and promote students' practical and real world application. 问题：老师的招聘录用和培养方式？

Q: How does NAS Shenzhen recruit teachers and help them develop?

首先从集团层面来说：集团每年1月在伦敦面向全球举办OTOS年度教师招聘会，以此招聘优秀的国际教师。世界各地的学校老师都会前来投递简历，应聘诺德安达的工作职位，学校将在众多应聘者中进行精选，在源头上对教师的质量进行把关。

诺德安达的各位校长会亲自面试申请人，择优录用最适合学校的人才，老师的招录比能够达到40:1。同时集团对于中教要求非常高：“所有老师均需要经过3轮严格的面试和模拟课堂试讲的流程。教育总监和中方校长会从的个人品性、专业、授课等各方面进行评估和挑选。”

学校方面为了让老师们能够不断精进、提高教学水平，集团给每个员工设立了“诺德安达大学”在线师训平台，所有的老师们都必须要参加培训。若在新开学校当地招募老师，要求更高：“我们会提高对当地应征老师的教学经验年限的标准，以招募到最好的人选。

除了校内的培训，还有校外更高规格的培训，每年，诺德安达教育集团还会从旗下学校选拔百名优秀的教师，向他们提供伦敦国王学院国际教育管理硕士课程的培训，帮助老师们不断精进、成长，在保证了老师的稳定性同时又提升老师个人的教学能力。

在深圳诺德安达学校，外教与中教比例达到了6：4，外教来自英国占比12.5%，美国87.5%，硕士研究生以上占55%，老师经验超过10年的占25% 。

中教持有国家教育部认可的教师资格证，外教持有英国国家“合格教师资格”证（QTS）。多位外籍教师均在诺德安达其它姐妹学校任教多年，由内部转入。

Nord Anglia Education every January holds the annual OTOS Teacher Recruitment Fair in London. This recruitment fair is geared toward finding only the very best international teachers from all over the world. The best of the applicants will be selected to ensure the quality of our teachers.

The principals of Nord Anglia will interview the applicants in person, and select only the best candidates. Nord Anglia Education enjoys an industry high average of 38 applications to every position available. Chinese teachers are also recruited by very high standards: “All applicants are subjected to three rounds of rigorous interviews and trial teaching. The Director of Education and the Chinese Principal will evaluate the candidates in terms of their personal traits, professionalism, and teaching performance. "

To help teachers develop and improve their teaching, the Nord Anglia Group has built an online training platform “Nord Anglia University” compulsory for all the employees. When recruiting locally for a new school, the standards are even higher: "Requirement for teaching experience of local teachers will be raised considerably in order to recruit the best of them.”

In addition to on-campus training, there are also more rigorous training off campus. Every year, Nord Anglia Group will select 100 outstanding teachers from its schools for the Masters of International Education Management Program at King's College London to help them develop and grow. These educational offerings help to retain the best teachers while helping them to them develop and maintain their professional skills.

At NAS Shenzhen, the ratio of foreign teachers to Chinese teachers is 6: 4. Of the foreign teachers, 12.5% are British and 87.5% are American. 55% of the teachers hold a master's degree or above, and 25% of the teacher has teaching experience of more than 10 years.

All the Chinese teachers are holders of Teacher Qualification Certificate recognized by the National Education Ministry, China, and the foreign teachers are certified by the Quality of Teaching Status (QTS). Many foreign teachers at NAS Shenzhen have been teaching in other Nord Anglia schools for many years, and are transferred to NAS Shenzhen through our internal transfer system.
