We Proudly Introduce: HQIS Director of Education, Mr. Okma

During the week of August 21st, HQIS Director of Education, Mr. Lambert Okma visited every classroom in Middle and High School, interacted with our students and teachers, shared his insights into international learning. Through several trainings conducted by Mr. Okma, our teachers further strengthened their instruction capabilitiesand equipped themselves with the knowledge and skills of high level teaching.

上周，HQIS总督学Mr. Lambert Okma走进了每一间初高中部的教室与师生进行了深入交流，分享了许多他创立美国艾威达学校以来对国际教育的经验心得。Mr. Okma为初高中老师准备了多场培训，进一步提升了他们对高等教育的知识和技能，同时也强化了他们的教学模式。

• Founding Principal of the International Academy, a National Blue Ribbon School that is recognized as one of the best high schools in the U.S. and currently the second largest IB diploma school in the world.
  

• Founded International Academy Macomb, Washtenaw International High School and Washtenaw International Middle Academy. The International Academy Macomb was ranked as the No. 1 Magnet School in the U.S. in 2018.

• Past lecturer for Oakland University’s IB Teaching and Learning Certificate. Previously member of the IB Board of Governors. Recipient of IBNA Inspiration Award.

  
  

• 美国艾威达学校的创始校长，艾威达是一所蓝带学校，被认为是美国最好的高中之一，目前是世界上第二大的IB文凭学校。
  

• 参与创立艾威达-Macomb学校，Washtenaw国际高中和Washtenaw国际初中。艾威达-Macomb学校在2018年被评为美国排名第一的重点公立中学。

• 前奥克兰大学IB教学和学习认证讲师。曾任IB理事会成员，因为他对国际教育的卓著贡献，IB组织授予他最高荣誉Inspiration Award（“启迪奖章”）。

Mr. Lambert Okma joined us at the August Parent Tea to speak about the structure and future plans for our Middle and High Schools. He introduced the “Three Pillars,” which serves as the foundation for our advanced learning as we move forward in the development of our Middle and High Schools. Mr. Okma then introduced the American Curriculum Standards that are being implemented this school year, which demonstrates to our parents that we at HQIS are learning according to the same , if not higher, standards compared with students in the United States.

Mr. Lambert Okma也出席了学校8月的家长分享会，为家长介绍初高中部的架构和未来计划。Mr. Okma详细阐述了“三大支柱”体系，这也是本校初高中发展的基石。本学期，初高中采用严格的美国中学课程标准，这些标准与美国学生相同，甚至更高。

On top of our strong learning foundations, our Curriculum Coordinator, Mr. Weiqi Zhang, also provided our students lots of opportunities to connect with the Ivy League Schools and many top-tier universities in the United States during their time in HQIS. Our students will be able to understand college lives in advance and establish their goals as they progress along the college application process.

除了强大的学习基础与标准，课程协调员Mr. Weiqi Zhang也会为本校初高中部学生提供更多机会与常春藤盟校和美国许多顶级大学建立联系。学生将能够提前了解大学生活，并在申请大学的过程中确立自己的目标，最终进入心仪的学校。
