Community Notice: Return to Campus Update #9

Health Updates

The above announcements are in line with the information provided by the Shanghai Municipal Government of the successful mitigation and containment efforts toward Covid-19. We continue to refine our health protocols under the guidance of the Shanghai Education Commission and the Centers for Disease Control. These agencies provide additional protocols for schools to adhere to with requirements for students on campus as well as before they arrive at school.

Return-to-Campus Procedures

Most of our regular routines for health and safety remain in place. There are a few things that have been updated from previous health policies to bring to your attention. It is important to note that all previous SCIS health policies as communicated in our parent-student handbooks remain in place, with the addition of these following updates:

• a doctor’s note from the fever clinic.

• the Shanghai School Convenient Medical Card from the fever clinic. This will be provided by the SCIS school nurse to take with you to the fever clinic.

• child to have been fever-free for 48 hours (rather than the previous 24) without fever-reducing medication.

• approval from the SCIS campus nurse. The nurse will meet the child and parent in front of the campus on the scheduled day of return as the child will not be permitted on the bus that morning.

Additionally, the timeline for return to campus if recovering from diarrhea or vomiting has changed as well. Students with these symptoms are required to be symptom-free for 72 hours without the use of medication and a doctor’s note.

If a student develops a fever or illness outside of school hours:

• the parents report symptoms to the school nurse via email.

• parents take the child to the appropriate medical facility if fever, vomiting, or diarrhea.

In order for your child to return to campus after they have developed a fever or illness outside of school hours, the following steps are required:

• a doctor’s report that clearly states the diagnosis and prescribed action.

• child to have been symptom-free for 48 hours for a fever without the use of fever-reducing medications.

• child to have been symptom-free for 72 hours for diarrhea/vomiting without the use of medication.

• approval from the SCIS campus nurse. The nurse will meet the child and parent in front of the campus on the scheduled day of return as the child will not be permitted on the bus that morning.

我们的下一步

一、二、三年级返校确认：我很高兴的确认我们的一、二、三年级定于6月2日周二返校。我们学校根据相关部门的要求并高于要求来保障学生们的健康和安全。这已经得到了上海市教委和疾病预防控制中心等部门的确认。我们的低年级管理层将向我们的1年级、2年级和3年级家长发送有关我们返回校园程序和所需文件以及更多详细信息。对于我们的所有年级将在学期结束前全部重返校园，我们感到非常兴奋。

幼儿重返校园的公告将后续发布：针对我们幼儿部的低幼学段学生，上海市教委、长宁区教育和疾控中心已经制定了一系列针对幼儿阶段防控防疫的操作规范。因此，在幼儿园学段重返校园之前，我们正在根据这些专家提供的指导意见，制定、完善相关的方案、制度和落实各项保障工作。此外，我们目前正在进行针对幼儿园所使用的设施的开展新一轮的消毒、检查等工作。我们相信通过努力得到相关部门的认可，批准复学决定。一旦得到市教委的批准，我们将第一时间告幼儿园学部的复课计划和日期。

关于健康规定的更新

以上公告与上海市政府提供的新冠肺炎防疫公告的信息一致。在上海市教委、区教育局和疾病预防控制中心的指导下，我们将继续完善我们的健康方案。这些机构为学生在校期间和到校前提供了一系列的指导规范，需要学校和学生共同严格遵守。

如您的孩子在校期间有发烧的症状并在痊愈后需要重返校园，请执行以下步骤：

• 发热门诊的医生证明。

• 发热门诊提供的上海学校便利医疗卡。此卡由SCIS学校护士提供，由您带去发热门诊。

• 学生在没有使用退烧药物的情况下48小时（而不是之前的24小时）没有发烧。

• 获得SCIS校园护士的批准。护士将在预定的返校日在校门前接待孩子和家长，因为孩子当天上午不可乘坐校车来校。

此外，如果在校期间学生出现腹泻或呕吐，痊愈后重返校园的时间表也发生了变化。有这些症状的学生必须持有医生证明，并在不使用药物的条件下，72小时内无症状。

如果学生在校外发烧或生病：

• 家长通过电子邮件向学校护士报告症状。

• 如果孩子发烧、呕吐或腹泻，父母需带孩子去适当的医疗机构。

如您的孩子在校外发烧或生病，痊愈后需返校学习，请执行以下步骤：

• 明确说明诊断和治疗措施的医生报告。

• 未使用退烧药的条件下48小时后无发热症状。

• 在未使用药物的前提下，72小时内没有腹泻/呕吐症状。

• 获得SCIS校园护士的批准。护士将在预定的返校日在校门前接待孩子和家长，因为孩子当天上午不可乘坐校车来校。
