阅读对于认知发展具有诸多益处 - 不仅是对孩子，对成人亦是如此。阅读可以帮助我们提高专注度、活跃思维、扩展词汇、提高记忆力以及构建知识体系等等，阅读的益处不胜枚举。

Books will give you pleasure when you feel board, offer warmth when you feel depressed, and help you find solutions when you are confused;

Therefore, you will make many good friends from reading.

Reading has proven to have many cognitive benefits—for both children and adults. Increased concentration, mental stimulation, vocabulary expansion, memory improvement and the building of knowledge are just some of the benefits of reading. 

在宁波诺德安达，阅读已经成为学生日常学习的重要组成部分。我们与业内领先的教育建筑师合作，将阅读角元素融入到学校多处设施中。其中，最具特色的学习资源中心藏有万余册中文、英文以及双语书籍，学生们可以选择在这里享受愉悦的阅读体验，也可以在教室、寄宿区或是户外开启阅读之旅。

In NAS Ningbo, reading is an essential part of students’ daily school life. Together with our leading education architect, we have designed reading corners elements into many school facilities. Among which, the LLC has thousands volumes of Chinese, English, and Bilingual books, student can choose to read in here, or they can read in classrooms, in boarding area or outside the buildings.

为建立孩子们有计划地完成阅读计划，培养和提高自主学习和时间管理能力，学校有科学、人性化的书本借阅制度，每位学生每次可以借阅两本书籍，借阅周期为14天。同时，有借有还以及爱护公物等良好的行为习惯也会得到相应地培养。

此外，分小组阅读和跨年级阅读能够更好地帮助学生们提高沟通和思考能力。为此，学校采购了多本同样的书籍，为小组阅读提供充足的资源。同时，相邻年级段的老师会积极沟通，他们会安排不同年级段的学生一起分组阅读，在交流和分享中碰撞出思想的火花。

Students can check out two books in total and return in 14 days. So, they need to plan their reading schedule, and by doing so, their independent learning and time management skills will improve accordingly. Meanwhile, students will also develop good behavior such as caring for public property.

In addition, reading in groups and cross-grades reading will better help students enhance their communication and critical thinking skills. The school has sufficient resources for the group reading. Cross-grades reading is also facilitated by the teachers from adjacent grades, which will spark creative ideas through discussion and sharing.

由于疫情的关系，同学们暂时还无法面对面彼此分享假期中读过的好书，也无法从学习资源中心借阅自己喜欢的书籍，但是同学们可以通过云端课堂以及全球校园在线学习平台，与来自全球29个国家的66所学校的66000多名的诺德安达学子共享全球优质的阅读资源并且共同探讨阅读带来的乐趣。

就在前不久，线上阅读周活动在宁波诺德安达云端课堂举行，无论是阅读纸质书籍还是电子书籍，同学们再一次沉浸在快乐的阅读之旅中。其中，本次活动最有特色的还是跨年级交流学习。二年级的学生向一年级的学生推荐书单，并且二年级的小朋友还精心制作了书单海报，为他们的努力点赞！

Due to the epidemic, students aren’t able to share reading experience with other fellows, and they also cannot borrow books from the LLC for the moment. However, students have full access to the virtual learning and Global Campus, which allows them to share their thoughts and ideas with over 66,000 students from 66 schools across 29 countries.

Not so long ago, Virtual Reading Week took place in NAS Ningbo’s E-Learning platform. Students once again enjoyed reading from both paper books and e-books. One of the best features of the event is the cross-grades exchange and learning. Grade 2 were excited to recommend the booklist to Grade 1, and Grade 2 even made special posters of the booklist.
