WELLINGTON COLLEGE CHINA SUPPORTS UNIVERSITY FROM UK TO STRENGTHEN LINKS IN CHINA
作为正在推动的中国合作战略计划的一部分,由英国巴斯大学校监威塞克斯伯爵(英女王伊丽莎白二世的三子——爱德华王子)带领的高级代表团一行于上周访问了上海和香港。巴斯大学通过此次在上海举行的行业圆桌会议,为威塞克斯伯爵提供了一个与众多中国领先企业代表见面的机会,同时在香港也举办了巴斯大学校友招待会。
A senior delegation led by the Chancellor of University of Bath, HRH The Earl of Wessex, Prince Edward, visited Shanghai and Hong Kong last week as part of the University’s ongoing China engagement strategy. The University of Bath created an opportunity for the Chancellor to meet with a number of leading Chinese businesses at an industry roundtable event in Shanghai, together with an alumni reception in Hong Kong.

来自英国巴斯大学工程与设计学院院长Hope Hailey教授和Gary Hawley教授在上海静安瑞吉酒店进行了演讲和讨论,威塞克斯伯爵以及各行业中国企业领袖代表出席了活动,其中包括惠灵顿(中国)、吉凯恩集团、捷豹路虎、德勤、史密斯、英中贸易协会、英国文化教育协会和上海商会。此次对话探讨了巴斯大学如何借助其在工程和管理专业上的优势加强在华行业关系,以及如何在中国未来经济增长和发展背景下进一步发展这些机遇。
Hawley教授向大家介绍了一个激动人心的新项目,即巴斯大学正在着手开发一个世界领先的研究与创新研究院,希望推动未来高效率和超低排放车辆的生产。其先进自动推进系统研究所(IAAPS)将于2020年开放。

Professor Hope Hailey and Professor Gary Hawley, Dean of Engineering and Design for University of Bath, facilitated a presentation and discussion at the St Regis Hotel, Shanghai in the presence of HRH The Earl of Wessex and Chinese business leaders from different organisations including Wellington College China, GKN, Jaguar Land Rover, Deloitte, Smiths, China British Business Council, the British Council and Shanghai Chambers of Commerce. The conversation explored opportunities for the University to strengthen its industry relationships in China around its strengths in Engineering and Management and considered how these could be further developed in the context of China’s future economic growth and development.
Professor Hawley outlined the exciting new project that the University has embarked on to develop a world-leading Research & Innovation Institute to support the delivery of efficient and ultra-low and zero emission vehicle. The Institute for Advanced Automotive Propulsion Systems (IAAPS) will open in 2020.
