为了引导诺德安达学子们去探索和领悟数学的魅力，鼓励孩子们灵活运用所掌握的数学知识，培养他们在理性思考中获得喜悦与快乐，以及帮助学生们理解数学在自然世界和人类社会中的应用，提升他们未来的竞争力。我校鼓励学生报名参加袋鼠数学竞赛（Math Kangaroo)。为了帮助学生取得更好的成绩，我校会根据报名学生情况，安排老师给学生作必要的赛前辅导。

NAS Beijing becomes math Kangaroo test center.
It shows that our facilities and math teaching method is fit for world wide level. we hope we could meet you there, remeber the deadline for registration isn 23rd of March.
In order to guide students to explore and learn about math, we encourage student to learn and understand knowledge of math flexible and hope they could receive happies and joyful through logical thinking. We would like to help student to understand math through using in natural world and human society in order to elevate this strength in the future. We encourage our student to join the Math Kangaroo competition. In order to help student to achieve high score, we will arrange the pre-test training for our student based on registration.

袋鼠数学竞赛由澳大利亚著名数学家Peter O’Halloran 于1980 年发起。1991 年，法国两位著名数学教育家成立正式竞赛组委会并在欧洲推广该项赛事，为了向Peter O’Halloran 致敬，将该竞赛正式取名为“袋鼠数学竞赛”。
不同于传统数学奥赛强调的高难度和挑战性，袋鼠数学竞赛宗旨是用有趣生动、接近生活的题目，激发孩子们数学学习兴趣及自信，培养学生数学思维，训练学生阅读、理解、分析和解决问题能力，适合各年级各种数学水平同学参加。因此，袋鼠数学竞赛逐步风靡世界，成为全球第一大规模的青少年国际数学竞赛，87 个国家和地区举办、每年超过600 万学生参加。

in the 1980's, Peter O’Halloran, an Australian mathematician and teacher, began a popular mathematical competition in his country. In 1991, this idea was taken up in Paris, France. Very quickly, it spread throughout Europe. The competition began to be called “Kangaroo” because of its Australian origin.
Different from the high difficulty and challenge emphasized in the traditional Mathematical Olympiad, the purpose of kangaroo mathematical competition is to stimulate children's interest and self-confidence in mathematics learning, cultivate students' mathematical thinking, train students' ability to read, understand, analyze and solve problems with interesting and vivid topics close to life, which is suitable for students of all levels of mathematics to participate. As a result, kangaroo mathematics competition has gradually become the world's first large-scale youth international mathematics competition, held in 87 countries and regions and attended by more than 6 million students every year.
袋鼠数学竞赛每年四月份全球统一举行，考试时间75 分钟，分为六个难度级别考试（可提供中文试卷），分别适应从小学一年级到高中三年级学生参加。全球组委会由国际著名数学家及资深数学教师组成，每年向各国数学老师征集符合各年龄段的袋鼠数学竞赛题目。袋鼠数学竞赛中国专家委员会将负责代表中国赛区组委会为全球组委会提供优秀数学题目。所有中国专家委员会成员，以及全国数学老师都可以参与袋鼠数学的出题，最终由专家委员会统一匿名评选出符合袋鼠数学原则和宗旨的优秀题目给全球组委会作为候选题目。

The main purpose of Math Kangaroo is to promote mathematical thinking and stimulate an interest in math, by providing students with an opportunity to compare their abilities against the abilities of other students, from different countries around the world.
