Community Notice: Campus Closure & Spring Break Update

Dear SCIS Families,  

On Feb 19, all SCIS parents received a community-wide email detailing an update to the school’s academic calendar. For clarity, we share the following information below. Please consult the entire email for more information.

The Shanghai Education Commission (SEC) and Municipal Government of Shanghai have provided the following directive, with regard to campus closure:

The SCIS announcement dated February 5 stated the government's requirement that on-campus learning would not occur through February. SCIS, along with all Shanghai schools, now awaits the declaration of the campus-based learning start date from the SEC. Once we receive that date, SCIS will share it with our community and provide a 7-day “return to Shanghai” time period. This 7-day period will also serve as our Spring Break (moving from the previous dates: March 30-April 3). Virtual learning will not take place at this time period. Following the Spring Break, we will continue with our virtual learning program until such time that we may return to on-campus learning.
