The special learning state that lasted for four months and made all the teachers and students unforgettable is coming to an end. The green, healthy and safe campus of Beijing nodeanda awaits the students' return.

In more than a month of preparation for the new semester, the school carried out a large-scale school-wide professional elimination, prepared sufficient epidemic prevention materials, organized a full range of epidemic prevention drills and various links of training, and successfully received the qinglonghu town back to school evaluation and inspection team to school inspection. In the middle of April, when the Beijing municipal commission of education launched the work of starting the first semester of the spring semester in 2020, our school made various preparations for returning to school and resuming classes. After more than a month of comprehensive preparation, on May 25, our school received an inspection from the evaluation and inspection team of returning to school in qinglonghu town. The inspection team believes that our preparatory work for the start of the school have arranged and deployed in place, and all work is effective and solid. In order to better guarantee the safety of the school, the operation department carried out a comprehensive elimination and ventilation of the school after all the staff left work. Parents and students are encouraged to believe that our program will provide you with a safe and secure campus environment.

Last week, we conducted back-to-school epidemic prevention and control training and finished the one-day full-process drills for all staff. All the teachers and administrative staff participated in the exercise, simulating the emergency treatment process of abnormal body temperature in the scene of students entering school, classroom teaching, routing, dining in the restaurant, dormitory rest and so on.

Epidemic Prevention Drill

Before the drill, all the staff of NAS Beijing held a meeting on matters needing attention for the drill and students returning to school, which clarified the corresponding tasks of teachers, detailed the work, and required all the colleagues to be familiar with the process. Everyone should know the emergency response and their duties.

The drill was divided into five scenarios. Each scene was conducted in accordance with specifications and emergency response drills were conducted. We also hope that every parent can understand the process with the following scenes, and help the students to understand them in advance. After arriving at school, teachers will strictly implement the epidemic prevention requirements of the Education Commission, assist the head teachers and students to complete the epidemic prevention work, and ensure the safety of children.

Scenario 1  Entering school

All teachers, students and staff must line up in front of the gate to take temperature measurements, and consciously maintain a distance of more than one meter. The security guards will record the temperature of each employee. If someone's temperature is higher than 37.3 ℃, he/she will be sent to the isolation area at the door. And the emergency treatment process for fever will be started. Once entering the school, students must follow the instructions of the route signs to enter the class.

Scenario 2  Classroom Management of Closed Campus Management

We will strictly carry out the morning and afternoon inspections. Classes are held in fixed classrooms and no shift system is implemented. Students should wear masks during indoor classes. During class, students cannot leave their seats at will, cannot exchange seats, cannot move desks and chairs together, and must keep a safe distance of more than 1 meter. Students need to follow the prescribed route and carry out their break and activities in the prescribed area, without skipping classes or cross regional activities. Students going to specialized classrooms (including classrooms for sports, music, fine arts, calligraphy, etc.) should be guided by teachers of each subject and follow the prescribed route. Students need to manage their personal belongings well, and try not to share learning or daily necessities with others.

If the students are found to have fever, dry cough or other related symptoms, teachers in charge will implement them in strict accordance with the emergency treatment guidelines.

Scenario 3  Specification for Outdoor Sports

We encourage students to rest outdoors or on the playground, but strenuous exercise is not recommended. In the situation of multiple people within 2 meters, masks are required. PE class should be completed according to the requirements of PE teachers.

Scenario 4  Student Boarding Management

All boarding students are led back to the dormitory by teachers at the end of each day, and queue up at the entrance of the dormitory for temperature measurement with one meter interval. After the measurement, they will enter their dormitories respectively. In principle, they are not allowed to string dormitories at will. The dormitory activities are managed by the dormitory supervisors.

Scenario 5  Dining Rules in Canteen

The canteen strictly implements the entry management of students through the way of entering from west to east. After entering the canteen, they need to wash their hands and disinfect and keep a distance of more than one meter. The school strictly carries out the cross-peak dining and arranges meals at different times for different grades. During the meal, students will sit according to the name stickers that the school has pasted for them, so that one person one table.

Epidemic Prevention Requirements and Emergency Treatment

Anyone has fever, dry cough and other symptoms at school (body temperature is higher than 37.3)

1. Isolate immediately

Report to the nurse in the school clinic at the first time. After nurses and disinfectors wear protective equipment and N95 masks to patients, they will evacuate to the outdoor and guide the patients to the isolation room through the shortest path at an interval of more than 1 meter. At the same time, the disinfection personnel carry out the disinfection.

2.Understand the situation and follow-up disposal

The nurse retested abnormal body temperature (≥37.3℃), and checked four types of situations: ① whether there was a high incidence of epidemic in the past (overseas, Hubei province); ② whether there was a diagnosis or suspected; ③ whether there was close contact with the diagnosis or suspected; ④ whether he/she lived together with the diagnosis or suspected.

If the fever patient has any of the above conditions, he/she will be sent to the fever clinic by 120 and the nurse will accompany him/her in another car. If the fever student does not have the above four conditions, the teaching director will inform the parents to take protection and take the students to the fever clinic. If the parents cannot arrive in time, the school will negotiate with the parents to transfer the students from 120 to the clinic, and the nurse will take another car to follow them.

Employees with abnormal body temperature (≥37.3℃) need to wear masks and leave school for medical treatment.

3. Health tracking of close contacts

Pay close attention to the health status of other personnel in school. When two or more cases of infection with fever, dry cough, shortness of breath and other symptoms of unknown cause are found in the same class, dormitory and department within one day, they shall be reported to the nurse immediately, and the contacts who live, study and work with them shall be investigated. At the same time, attention should be paid to the living and working isolation between the personnel in the symptomatic area and those in other areas.

4. Reporting Process

The temperature abnormality (≥ 37.3 ℃) retested by the nurse may be judged as infectious diseases and he/she shall be immediately isolated and reported to the school administration and operation department immediately. The boarding students shall be reported to the director of dormitory management and operation team. The staff of the operation department shall report to the local prevention and protection department, the heads of primary and secondary health care centers and school offices, and report to the Education Committee of Qinglonghu town. The teaching director contacted the parents to report the symptoms of the disease and negotiated the medical treatment plan.

This drill activity has comprehensively improved and perfected our emergency response capability and measures to deal with unexpected epidemic prevention incidents. It also made all the staff fully understand the epidemic prevention process. Only by doing a good job in prevention can we minimize the unknown risks and better guarantee the safety of teachers and students.
