When I arrived at College of Mount Saint Vincent, various wine-colored buildings with beautiful views attracted me and sparked my high expectations for the next six weeks.ELS语言学习中心黛勒河分校就坐落于圣文森特山学院主教学楼Founders’ Hall。 In here, ELS, we have classes including pre-college materials on culture, immigration, assimilation and family. In front of my 14 classmates who come from different countries and cooperating with Sumiko, one of my Japanese classmates, we gave a presentation about Italian immigrants’ influence on American culture. I really gained and learned a lot more academic and cultural knowledge during this trip. The class here is quite different from the class in China. Everyone has a chance to say something in the class. There’s a lot of teamwork here. We group with the people we don’t know, people from different countries and they help me greatly. People from all over the world communicating in English in the same class, this feels like magic. We talk to foreign people in English everyday. This is a very special feeling. Our cultural backgrounds are totally different, but we can sit down in the same class and use the same language to communicate with each other. It’s unbelievable. Mostly important, I learned the TOEFL skills here, and also the different ways to consolidate our skills. Even if this TOEFL test will beat me, I will never stop trying until I give myself a satisfactory score. That’s where my heart is.“钢筋水泥的丛林,梦想家的乐园。 Since I came to New York, everything, every opinion deep in my heart changes. When we went to watch the New York firework on Independence Day, the firework lit up all over Manhattan and people around us were shouting “USA, USA, USA”. They were so proud and loved their country so much. It’s not just their country, but also a belief. Their love is so deep in their heart, in their mind. This is the land full of immigrants, but they all love this country. The people from different culture bring their intelligence together to make the United States to be a multicultural country. Live in one city for one and a half month, the time is too short for fall in love with the city, but it’s enough to know the city.United States, please wait for me, I will come here one day. This is Harvard I stand in. I feel like I’m closer to my dream!Harvard is a dream faraway, but I will do my best. Harvard, I am coming.Harvard is a very big community. Time is too short for me to get a comprehensive picture of the whole campus. From different countries, now in the same classroom, students here are very enthusiastic. I did not feel uncomfortable at all. During this 1 month,my speaking became more fluent and my English level has been improved too!I feel CHANGES inside of me. I really appreciate my friends in my class who helped me find a better self! After this course, I know how much I need to do in order to achieve my dream. In the end, I want to quote one sentence which inspired me a lot: “Everyone has his inherent ability which is easily concealed by habits, blurred by time, and eroded by laziness.”
