Big Questions, Big Ideas
“What does hope mean to you?”
“How has the current crisis changed how you feel about the importance of the Global Goals?”
“Do animals have emotions just like us?”
The above three Big Questions were asked by an English teacher, a group of students from Prague British International School in the Czech Republic, and an NAE Programme Manager in India. Over the next few months, we'll be posing some big questions. The questions will encourage the exploration of big ideas, confusing concepts and quizzical facts - a learning adventure just waiting to happen.
All you need to take part is a computer, an internet connection and a bit of curiosity.

语言与文化、健康与健身、设计与制作、艺术手工艺以及个人挑战,五大主题共30项挑战供所有诺德安达学生挑战。每项挑战都已标星数量体现难易程度,一星为简单,三星为困难。比如,在语言与文化中,有一项一星的挑战:不用任何文字来讲述一个故事。对此,有的学生选择以拍摄肢体语言的视频形式来讲述故事,也有学生选择画漫画的形式。令人惊喜的是,即使没有语言,孩子们讲述的故事同样精彩。

30 Challenging Activities
Are you able to choose a challenge a day or a week?
This section includes five categories of Language and Culture, Health and Fitness, Design and Make, Arts and Crafts, and Personal Challenge, with total of 30 challenging activities. The difficulty of each challenge is rated by the number of stars, with one start being simple and three stars being difficult. For instance, there is a one-star challenge from the Language and Culture: Tell a story without using words. Some students chose to make a video of body language, while others chose to draw pictures. Surprisingly, the stories were quite interesting without any words.

STEAM with MIT Xtra
Can you create beautiful music with glassware? Can you make delicious bread?
Over the next few months, our MIT Curiosity Correspondents Fatima and Rahi will be setting a series of fun challenges for you to complete. Meanwhile, they will share with students the scientific secrets of the challenges.

Even more, are you interested in a lecture with an MIT professor or researcher?
On April 29th, the special webinar was delivered by a third-year PhD student in the Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory (CSAIL) at MIT. She is a Graduate Research Assistant in the Model-based Embedded and Robotic Systems (MERS) Group studying under Professor Brian Williams. The group’s research aims to elevate robots from mechanical creations controlled by low-level scripts with a considerable amount of human guidance to truly cognitive robots.

2020年度诺德安达线上音乐家大赛现已全面开启,此次比赛面向全球诺德安达学生,包含四个大项和三个年龄组别。
大项:管弦乐器、打击乐器、唱歌以及钢琴。每个大项都包含三个年龄组别:15-17岁、10-14岁以及7-9岁。

Performing Arts Challenges
If you’re an aspiring musician, actor or dancer, check out the latest performing arts competitions!
Nord Anglia Education Virtual Musician 2020 is now open for all NAE students around the world. There are 4 main instrument categories and within these categories there are 3 age groups.
Categories: Wind and String instruments, Percussion, Voice, and Piano. Each category will have three age ranges: Ages 15-17, 10-14, and 7-9.

In addition, The Viral Monologues Competition is open for NAE students, and we encourage them to create and perform this special monologue. In these challenging times, stories of hope can lift our spirits and motivate and inspire us.
So we want to know...What’s your story? How has someone in your community helped you or how have you helped others? We'd like you to write a short monologue and perform it on video so that others can hear your voice.
There will also be three age categories: Ages 7-9, 10-14, and 15-17.

面对目前全球性的疫情,同学们们或许有很多问题?此次疫情对全球的儿童造成了哪些影响?联合国儿童基金会是如何应对的?

UNICEF
UNICEF is the world’s leading advocate for children. They operate in 190 countries and regions to save children’s’ lives, defend their rights and help them fulfil their potential. UNICEF is empowered by the United Nations to take collective action for a better world.
In facing with the COVID-19 pandemic, our students might have many questions such as how the crisis is affecting children and the ways UNICEF is responding.
Now, NAE students have an opportunity to ask Executive Director of UNICEF, Henrietta Foer, a question. We strongly recommend our students to participate, for this will be an exceptional learning experience.

Expeditions
As we can’t visit our expedition bases in Tanzania or Switzerland at the moment, the expedition team thought Minecraft might be a way of helping you think about your future trip to one of these amazing locations, or a chance to show what you remember from your previous visit.
Form a team made up of students from your school and compete against students from other schools! Let’s see who can create the most realistic Tanzanian or Swiss Village. We believe this will be a very interesting expedition.
