Intro
九年级的社区设计项目是融合部学生在中学学段的学术盛宴。每位莘莘学子怀揣着探索世界、改变世界的梦想,通过一个个项目去传递爱心与关怀,努力用实际行动对我们的生活和环境产生积极的影响。
Community Project in SSES MYP is the culminating event of students’ middle school years. With the dream of exploring the world and changing the world, students strive to be caring members of the community through various projects and activities to make a positive difference in our lives and to the environment.
什么是社区设计?
What is Community Project?
社区设计是一种结构化的服务性学习探究方式。它鼓励九年级学生们在社区服务中进行持久深入的探究,通过调研、计划、行动、反思和展示的五个步骤,不断探索自己的权利与责任,运用并增强学习技能,强化已有知识及学科学习,发展个人兴趣,加深对全球背景的理解。
Community Project is a structured academic inquiry approach about service learning. It encourages G9 students to explore their right and responsibility in a sustained, in-depth inquiry leading to service as action in the community, during which they practice and strengthen their ATL skills, consolidate prior and subject-specific learning, develop an area of personal interest and show a good understanding of the Global Contexts through the steps of the investigation, planning, action, reflection and demonstration.
从去年9月起,融合部中学93名九年级毕业生,分别在23位导师的指引下发起了37个项目;经历了7个月的调研、计划、行动与反思,穿插不同的培训和工作坊,学生们于2020年4月15日进行了社区设计展;导师们于5月对学生的CP项目进行了评估,并于6月给予了学生关于项目的最终反馈。
Since last September, 93 students from SSES Integrated Department Grade 9 have launched 37 projects under the guidance of 23 supervisors. After 7 months of investigation, planning, taking-action and reflection, together with several training and workshop provided for the students, the Community Project Exhibition was finally held on April 15th. The supervisors evaluated the students' Community Project in May and gave students final feedback on the project in June.

Community Project Exhibition
今年4月,因受新冠肺炎疫情影响学生均未返校。为跨越沟通障碍,九年级社区设计展我们首次采取了线上展示的形式。
This April, none of the students returned to school because of the 2019-nCoV epidemic. To overcome communication barriers, the G9 Community Project exhibition took the form of online display for the first time.
在此次社区设计线上展中,九年级小组总共展示三轮;每一轮观者可通过查看导览手册中的小组信息预先挑选感兴趣的小组,然后根据Zoom ID进入各个小组的Zoom会议室收看讲解、进行互动。
In this online Community Project Exhibition, the G9 groups displayed three rounds; each round, viewers can pre-select the groups they’re interested in by viewing the group information list in the guide, and then enter the respective Zoom meeting room according to the Zoom ID to receive further explanations and interactions.
本次社区设计展除了组织融合部中学6-8年级学生进行观展外,我们还向融合部高中和小学、美加学部的师生以及家长朋友们发出了观展邀请。众多领导、老师、家长、不同年级的学生参与,给了九年级学生很大的鼓舞。其中也有一些较为犀利的评价和问题,也为九年级学生提出了更高层次的挑战。
Besides the G6-8 students in MYP, we also invited parents, teachers and students from PYP, DP and Nobel Academy Department to join us in this feast. Numerous teachers, parents, and students of different grades participated in this exhibition, which gave the G9 students great encouragement. There were also some sharp and critical questions and comments coming from the visitors, which also raised higher-level challenges for the G9 students.




线上展结束之后,我们参考评估结果邀请了八个高分小组进行了线下展板制作,将他们的作品展示在融合部大楼四楼阅读区,希望能够持续给学弟学妹们以服务性学习的灵感和熏陶。
CP evaluation was carried out after the online exhibition. Based on the evaluation results, we invited eight groups with high scores to make boards displayed in the Integrated Department building, fourth floor, hoping to constantly inspire and influence the other students with service learning.

项目介绍:
该小组希望纠正中国部分群体普遍的对于国内电影市场的偏见。也将对中国电影的制片、镜头、技巧等作出列举剖析,基于直接和间接两种传播形式同时对受众进行影响。通过深入浅出的专业知识普及让大众开始对中国电影有基本的了解,怀揣希望,认识到国内电影也有可圈可点之处。

Project Introduction:
This group hopes to correct the prejudice against the domestic film market that is common to some people in China. It will also list and analyze the production, lens, and skills of Chinese films, based on the direct and indirect forms of communication to affect the audience at the same time. Through the popularization of simple and professional knowledge, the general public began to have a basic understanding of Chinese movies, with hope, and realized that domestic movies are also remarkable.

该小组发现现在绝大部分的孩子都沉迷于电子游戏,传统玩具即将变为历史。所以希望通过制作传统玩具来重新激发孩子们对传统玩具的兴趣。

Project Introduction:
This group found that most children are now addicted to video games, and traditional toys are about to become history. So they hope to reinvigorate children's interest in traditional toys through the traditional toys they made.

该小组探究FSHD患者的身体、心理的和社交的成长。探索患者对自身的身份认同和他们的价值观,以及外界对他们身份是否认可。该小组与 FSHD China 以及华山医院研究对抗药的医生合作,举办讲座一起宣传 FSHD。

Project Introduction:
This group explored the physical, psychological and social growth of FSHD patients. Moreover, they explored patients' identity with themselves and their values, as well as whether the outside world recognizes their identity. Cooperating with FSHD China and Huashan Hospital doctors who study anti-drugs, this group held a lecture to promote people to care about FSHD.

师长们的关注与提问为九年级学生带来了鼓励同时也带来了挑战。社区设计展结束之后,各方老师和家长们表达了对九年级毕业生们四年来服务性学习成果的肯定,相信孩子们在未来的学术探索之路上,不忘初心,以改善世界为己任。
The attention and questions of the teachers and schoolmates brought both encouragement and challenges to the G9 students. After the end of the Community Project Exhibition, teachers and parents all expressed their affirmation of the service learning outcomes of these graduates in the past four years. We believe that these students will not forget their original intentions on future academic exploration and take the responsibility of improving the world.

I enjoyed and appreciated the 9A group to present and celebrate the outcomes of this unique learning journey. They shared with students and teachers their learning experience about what their goal was, what they have learned, and how they might have done differently with reflections.
I think the 2020 CP Exhibition is a great success.
The outstanding achievements and remarkable works of our Grade 9 students have demonstrated how they have gained from their subject knowledge and have developed the ATL skills throughout the inquiry process.

今天在参与9B汪雨萱FSHD的展示时被孩子的话打动——“不要随波逐流”、“要找到群体真正的需求才能坚持下去”。Candy柔柔的话语充满坚定和自信。爱心满溢的她和组员们找到了很好的切入点后,从全球背景的角度进行了深入的思考,并且结合了自己的一技之长对项目的丰富呈现形态进行完善。在自我技能得到了锻炼的同时,孩子还理解到了Service learning的精髓,建立起来了知识和生活的连接,而且项目有延续性和成长空间,真的非常赞!

In this CP show, I saw one group that let me feel amazing. The topic is Are Chinese movies "bad"?. They used a nice voice and a clear mind to show their work. I was interested in their topic. Because Chinese films started later than foreign ones, there is still a big gap compared with foreign films, although in recent years, they have made great progress in material and technique. I have realized the unique bright spot of Chinese films, and I have been overwhelmed by the unremitting efforts of Chinese filmmakers, which has changed my view about Chinese films and made me see the promising future of Chinese films. I hope that in the near future, Chinese films will stand at the top of the world films with pride.

今天我看了学长学姐们的CP展,十分精彩。尤其是今天第一个看的“对媒体的分析与宣传”,整个CP有条有理,有良好的计划也有最终的反思。想想自己做的SA真是有点“缺胳膊少腿”,希望自己也能在看完这次CP展后有所进步。

令人期待的9年级社区设计展不负众望,我参观的三组设计和展示各有特色。每一位同学都准备的非常充分,语言表达自信流利,对设计主题的阐述清晰明了。
“对媒体的分析与宣传”小组,三位组员分工井井有条,流利的双语介绍让人惊艳。展现了融合部学子熟练的双语表达能力,也表现出“媒体人”的专业和敬业。
“重新激发孩子们对传统玩具的兴趣”小组,清晰的环状数据图让人一目了然,自己动手设计制作并结合身边资源给PYP学弟学妹们进行“游戏测评”也是让我印象深刻。有理论设想,有实际行动,完美的项目呈现。
“电脑配件及购买途径推荐”小组,通过自己的兴趣和相关知识惠及他人,并在反思中审视不足和需要改进的地方,learning by doing, IB的十大培养目标在孩子们身上烙下了深刻的印记。
此外,三组同学们都不约而同提到了选题要建立在自己的兴趣上,和做好时间管理,合理规划SA进度。这是他们通过自己的实践和努力得到的深刻体会和经验,这些经验会帮助他们看得更高,走得更远!”
