Art Online Learning @ EMW 空中课堂 点亮艺术之花

Online learning has become the daily life for all students.

The virus stops students from going outside,

But it can't stop their yearning for art and knowledge.

Staying at home offers an opportunity 

for everyone to calm down,

to better understand art works

and feel the beauty of art.

/6年级/ 

6年级的学生通过云课堂，在艺术老师Mr Meri的指导下练习海报设计技巧，如海报的重点、文本信息层次排序、如何对齐和使用引导线等。

由于疫情，艺术节不得不延期，但是学生们的创意和参与的热情展现出了他们对于未来的美好憧憬和期待。

Led and instructed by Mr Meri - Art teacher of EMW, Grade 6 students  were working on poster design skills such as focus, text hierarchy, alignment, and leading lines.

Although the Arts Soiree has to be delayed due to the coronavirus epidemic,  we are still touched by students'  effort in participation and creating the posters which fully show their expectation for the future.

/7年级/ 

七年级的学生在学习单点透视的技巧，他们用参考图片绘制了一幅卧室图，并加入了一些自己的想象。

学生们的艺术创作通过运用最简单的线条表达了他们自己的想法、理念和态度。

Grade 7 were working on the skill of one-point perspective by creating a bedroom drawing, adding an element of fantasy  and using reference pictures.

The artistic creations express their ideas, concepts and attitudes with monochromatic lines. 

/8年级/ 

在滚滚流动的艺术潮流中，肖像画作为人物画中独具风味的一种形式而流传下来。

8年级的艺术老师Ms Cole利用Edmodo和Zoom两个线上学习平台，将肖像画带入了艺术课堂。

毕加索曾经说：“你必须像专业人士一样学习规则，才能像艺术家一样打破规则”，因此我们的学生首先要学习如何用准确的比例来描绘逼真的面部特征。

In the history of art, portrait painting, as a unique form of figure painting, has been handed down.

Ms Cole, the Art teacher of Grade 8, has brought "Portrait" into class by using a mix of Edmodo and Zoom.

Pablo Picasso said “You must learn the rules like a pro before you can break them like an artist”, so they first learnt how to draw realistic facial features with accurate proportions.

接着，他们利用各种在线程序对肖像进行处理，使其看起来像毕加索创作的立体派肖像。

They then used a variety of online digital programs to manipulate portraits to look like Picasso inspired cubist portraits.

学生们随后欣赏了16世纪的画家Arcimboldo的作品，并利用家里发现的物体创作了三维肖像。

Students then looked at 16th Century painter Arcimboldo and created 3D portraits using found objects around their home.

在这段特殊的时间里，保持积极的心态非常重要，同时，我们也认为寻找并认可那些在线上学习中有出色表现的同学也是至关重要的。

对于那些始终如一地努力，对学习异常地投入，虽然是在家学习，但也能勤奋刻苦，积极地参与每一节课的学生，老师都会给予认可和表扬。我们要祝贺以下这些同学获得本次的“最佳线上学习者”称号。

在困难的情况下，坚持求学，全力以赴，才能使我们始终走在正确的道路上。

我们希望看到越来越多的同学加入到这个队伍中来！加油！

It's so important during this extraordinary time to keep our minds on the positive, and to seek out and acknowledge the excellent work that some of our students are doing using our online learning systems at Jiao Ke EMW. 

These students have been recognised by their teachers as having stood out; either for making consistent effort, for putting in exceptional work, or for their diligent participation from home. We want to congratulate the recipients for their continued effort and excellent attitudes to learning. 

When the circumstances are difficult, it is constant adherence to the pursuit of learning and giving the best effort that will keep us steady on the right path. 

We hope to see more of you joining these students in the coming weeks. Well done!
