On November 2, 2019, SSBS high school organized a school trip to Guangfulin Relics Park, an archeological site in Songjiang district that marks one of the most important cultures, among Liangzhu Culture and Songze Culture, Guangfulin Culture, created over 4000 years ago.
Besides the astounding and soothing natural scenery, Guangfulin Park also offers SSBS students an opportunity to immerse in the historical cultures on which our modern world is predicated. Many students visited the underwater museum to witness the visual recreation of Guangfulin Culture, from how it was unearthed to how people back then used to live and hunt.
The park also fosters other remarkable cultural sites that are open to visitors, including Zhiye Temple, a Buddhist built during the Tang Dynasty, and Chen Zilong’s tomb, a revolutionary poet during the Ming Dynasty. This school tour allowed us to observe the origin and development of our foundational cultures intimately, to better appreciate what we have today.
