校长说|Principal Write

上周我参加了IB亚太区域研讨会IBDP 管理者工作坊。IB亚太区域研讨会提供了很多种工作坊。 参加IBDP 管理者工作坊的有来自全国各地及泰国、澳大利亚等国家的二十多位校长。诺德安达教育集团北京、宁波、南通、佛山、广州的七位国际学校和双语学校的校长参加了培训，是此项培训中校长参与人数最多的教育集团。其中诺德安达集团的多位校长具有丰富的PYP、MYP 和IBDP的教育教学和管理工作的经验。

作为目前国际上认可度最高、真正无国界全球通用的、旨在培养全面人才的国际课程，IBDP正在为越来越多的学校和家长所青睐。IBDP的课程设置是高度科学的， 虽然科目林立，却没有将知识割裂得支离破碎，各门课程都有互通之处，真正实现了跨学科、培养均衡人才的目标。

IBDP课程针对的是11、12年级的学生，分为六大学科组 (语言与文学、第二语言、个人与社会、科学、数学和艺术) + 三大核心课程 (认识论、拓展论文和创意、行动与服务 )。学生按照自己的兴趣爱好、学科基础以及升学方向从六个学科组中各选1门学科来学习。IBDP的核心课程：认识论TOK、扩展论文EE、创造行动与社区服务活动CAS。

IBDP课程的科学之处在于文理相通、对学生跨学科素养的培养，同时每个学生又有自己擅长的高水平领域的深入学习与研究，扬长避短。学生可以在每一门课中钻得很深，又需要跳出这些领域看得更高。最重要的还是鼓励学生的独立研究、训练批判性思维能力。例如: 扩展论文, 学生选择一个自己喜欢的领域，设立课题，进行独立研究，同时学习和掌握学术性论文的写作规范和技巧，最终写出一篇4000字的研究论文。通过拓展论文提前训练了学生在国外大学的基本生存技能, 帮助学生提前做好在国外大学顺利学习的准备，这一点对于国内的学生非常重要。

Last week I attended the IBDP (International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme) management training held in Beijing. More than twenty Principals from across the globe, including seven from Nord Anglia Education International and Bilingual schools.  It was very clear from the training that the Bilingual Principals from Beijing, Nantong, Ningbo and Foshan have a very rich understanding of the teaching principles and management of the IBDP which set them apart from many others.

The IBDP is gaining popularity as the qualification of choice for schools and parents. The curriculum structure of IBDP is highly scientific.Although the courses are full of subjects, they do not break up the knowledge. All courses are interlinked, which truly achieves the goal of interdisciplinary and balanced talent cultivation.

IBDP is aimed at students in grades 11 and 12.  It is divided into six subject groups (Language and Literature, Language Acquisition, Individuals and Societies, Science, Mathematics and The Arts) as well as an additional three core courses (Theory of Knowledge, the Extended Essay and Creativity, Behaviour and Service – known as CAS). Students choose one course from each of the six subject groups according to their own interests, subject foundation and study direction.

The science of the IB course lies in the combination of literature, science and an interdisciplinary mix. Students can study in depth subjects they have a genuine interest in, whilst maintaining a broad and balanced approach to other subject areas. The most important thing is to encourage students to do independent research and cultivate their critical thinking , for example: Expansion thesis, students choose a field they like, set up a topic, conduct independent research, learn and master the writing standards and skills of academic papers, and finally the students need to write a 4000 words research paper. It is very important for domestic students to grab this basic skill and help them to prepare for their study in foreign universities in advance.
