万源音乐小子：Sunny Li — 拿下伯克利音乐学院OFFER，圆梦全球顶尖音乐殿堂！

协和毕业生Sunny, 头顶无数光环，他是能说会道的话剧演员，舞台上帅气的舞者，舞台剧中的歌手，他也是我们协和万源美高培养出来的被伯克利音乐学院录取的学生！

音乐于我来说犹如空气般地重要，它是我生命中不可或缺的一部分。我每时每刻都在哼歌：在洗澡时，我会唱歌;在坐车时，我会唱歌，甚至在睡觉前，我还会唱歌……

两年前一次偶然地机会，我碰到了已经在伯克利音乐学院就读，假期返回万源母校看望老师的学姐，她曾笑着鼓励我说：“喜欢音乐就申请全世界规模最大、最顶尖的独立现代音乐学院吧！”伯克利音乐学院Berklee College of Music以美国流行音乐与爵士乐而闻名。也许正因为学姐的鼓励，也许也是因为我对音乐的执着，11年级那年暑假，我怀着对这所音乐殿堂的憧憬，报名参加了伯克利音乐学院的夏校。在夏校的那几周，学校老师们独特的音乐底蕴和有趣的教学方式，让我在乐理和音乐制作方面有了很大的提升——这些经历更加坚定了我报考的伯克利的信念：伯克利是音乐学习者的天堂，是我的梦校！

如今，我终于如愿以偿地收到了伯克利音乐学院的录取通知书，我的美梦成真了！！

Music has become a vital component in my life.  People who know me well, will notice that I sing all the time. Whether I’m taking a shower, riding a bus, or getting ready for bed; I often catch myself humming or singing a song. While at school two years ago, I ran into an SUIS graduate studying at Berklee College of Music.  As we talked, I learned that Berklee College of Music is the world’s largest and independent modern school of music.  It is well-known for American pop and jazz. Through our discussion, I was encouraged by her to submit an application as a potential university to attend after graduating from high school. To better understand the university’s campus and school life, and consider if this might be the right decision for me; I applied for an introductory summer program.  After enrolling and participating in their summer program last year, my theory and music production greatly improved as a result of exposure to unique music backgrounds and various teaching methods by teachers.  From this experience, I realized Berklee had become my dream institution as being a place of paradise for studying and learning music. Today, I am happy to say, my dream has come true after receiving an offer to attend Berklee College of Music.

回头看我的申请路，我发现学校对我的支持和帮助，是我成功被录取伯克利音乐学院的关键。自进入协和美高的第一年，我就有幸参加了学校音乐剧《绿野仙踪》的排演，并且之后每一年的大型音乐剧我都有加入。通过音乐剧的表演，我学会和他人合作，学会如何在团队中体现领导力，并不断挑战音乐表演的新高度，我变得越来越自信。

在万源美高，学校还提供了丰富的社团选择。我是学校舞蹈社的成员也是学校乐队的主唱手。在舞社和乐队的每一次排练和演出中，我意识到追逐音乐梦想的人不仅仅是我自己，还有我身边的伙伴们。舞社的伙伴们教我跳舞、乐队的吉他手教我弹吉他、喜欢rap的同学带我探索嘻哈文化……我们一起学习音乐制作、一起玩音乐、一起迎接挑战、一起成长……

学校里的老师和同学们在我的音乐创作之路上给予了我太多的帮助：当我有灵感的时候，我总是会与他们分享，而他们也会给我最诚恳的反馈，这些，都让我的作品更加完善，让我也更加成熟。

The help and support from Shanghai United International School, Wanyuan Campus, is a key area for my successful admittance to Berklee College of Music. Since beginning my first year at Shanghai United International School, I was honored to participate in the school musical The Wizard of Oz, and every year after that, I appeared in musicals. Through participation in these performances, I learned to cooperate with others, demonstrate team leadership, and constantly challenge myself to improve: leading me to greater confidence over time.

At Shanghai United International School, many club activities can be chosen. I was a member of the school dance club and also the lead vocalist in the school band. During rehearsals and performance in these two activities, I realized that I was not the only person to follow a passion for music, but also the friends around me. These members taught me how to dance, play guitar, and explore rap hip-hop culture. Together, we learned how to produce and play music, progress and meet challenges in a collective way.

Teachers and classmates were always willing to provide additional help when I felt inspired, by listening to my thoughts and providing feedback to help me improve.

这一路走来，我很感恩学校的全人教育。是学校让我可以不断的在我喜欢做的事上大步向前。在万源美高，有各式各样的社团和机遇，无论你想做什么，爱做什么，都可以在这样找到适合的平台，也正是因为这样，我们才可以发扬我们的长处，改进我们的短处。老师们的每一次教导和鼓励，都让我突破自己的极限，让我感受到无尽的师生情谊……

协和给我的宝贵回忆，是老师们因材施教的智慧，是同学们互帮互助的友谊，也是学校充分信任和支持学生的心。可能很多年后，当我再一次回想起这一段协和的回忆，我的嘴角会扬起，也会为那熟悉的幸福感痴迷。

I am very thankful for the holistic education and opportunities SUIS has provided me.  Whatever one wants to do or likes to do, a suitable platform is there for you.  It is an opportunity to play up your strengths and improve your weaknesses. Through the teaching and encouragement from teachers, my limits were pushed and friendships developed.

The happiness that SUIS gave me is the wisdom I received from teachers, the ability to teach students according to their aptitude, the friendships of classmates helping each other, and the complete trust by the school in supporting students. Years later, when I reflect on the memories of my time at SUIS, I will smile and be reminded of the familiar happiness I experienced in my high school life.
