万源教师 绝不简单｜闵行区第六届“希望之星”称号获得者郑霄老师 Versatile XieHe

半年的实习让郑老师加入协和后，有了较强的适应能力。协和万源展现的中西融合的文化，丰富多元的课程，美丽多彩的校园让孩子们和老师们都有了更广阔的发展。在一开始接班时，郑老师的内心是忐忑的，但是她积极地向有经验的老师们请教，也会关注着得到的各种反馈，功夫不负有心人，她和孩子们之间逐渐建立了信任和喜爱，就像人们常说的，如果你爱孩子，那他们一定是感受得到的。

Olivia’s previous half a year's internship in SUIS also made her highly adaptable when working there. SUIS exhibits a fusion of Chinese and Western cultures, rich and diversified courses, and a beautiful and colorful campus that allowed children and teachers to have a broader development. At the beginning of the succession of the classes, Olivia was nervous, but she actively sought advice from experienced teachers, and she also paid attention to the feedback she received. Her hard work paid off, and she gradually established a relationship with the children. Trust and love, as people often say, if you love children, they may definitely feel it.

郑老师虽然作为一名年轻教师，但在控班和教学上非常有自己的方法，“没有规矩，不成方圆”，在郑老师的课上，孩子们井然有序又乐在其中，每个人都积极发表自己想法，分享自己的故事，是一个有趣，开放的课堂。不仅如此，郑老师也是个爱与自己较劲儿的人，有点“强迫症”，她时常记着要以身作则，在要求孩子们的同时，也对自己严格要求，一丝不苟地对待每本作业，每堂课，每项工作。

Although Olivia is a young teacher, she has her own methods in class control and teaching. "No rules, no way round." In Olivia's class, the children are well-organized and happy. Everyone actively posting thoughts and sharing stories is a fun, open class. In addition, Olivia is also a person who loves to challenge herself. She always persists in setting strict demands on herself before demanding her students including being meticulous with all the homework, the lesson and the work.

在协和的基因里，我们拥有的不仅仅是追求多元平衡，我们更鼓励开拓创新，协和先锋班的英语老师便是“跨学科老师“的充分体现。郑老师今年任教五年级，除了教授朗文英语，牛津英语外，还担任探究老师和STEM老师，尤其是新增设的全英文版的STEM课，对五年级的英语老师来说，也是新的挑战，全新的备课内容更拓宽了郑老师的课堂，她会根据内容的难易程度，适当地进行调整每节课的讲解时间和操作时间，也会找寻一些相关的实验来更好的理解某个专业术语，深入浅出，孩子们对这门课超出的喜欢也让郑老师觉得所有的准备和付出都值得。

In the genes of SUIS, we not only pursue diversity and balance, but also seek exploration and innovation. The English teachers of SUIS Pioneer Stream are the embodiment of "transdisciplinary teachers".  Olivia is teaching Grade Five this year. In addition to teaching Longman English and Oxford English, she is also an Inquiry teacher and STEM teacher. Especially the newly-added full-English version of STEM is also a big challenge to the fifth grade English teachers. The new course preparation content has broadened Olivia’s class. She will adjust the explanation time and operation time of each lesson appropriately according to the difficulty of the content. She will also find some related experiments for students to better understand a certain concept. A professional terminology, explain in simple terms, the children's overwhelming love of this course also makes her feel that all the preparation and dedication are worth.

上海市特级英语教师祁承辉老师来我校进行讲座时，分享过这样一句话“When teaching a lesson，don’t teach a lesson.”这就如同授之以鱼，不如授之以渔。郑老师在担任教学时，除了认真教授知识，也十分重视学习方法的教授，让孩子们成为会思考的学生。在郑老师不同的课堂里，孩子们有过丰富多彩的体验，剧本表演，制作海报，制作饼干，制作灯笼等等，回味起来，其乐无穷。

When Mr. Qi Chenghui, a special-level English teacher from Shanghai, came to our school for a lecture. He shared the sentence "When teaching a lesson, don’t teach a lesson" impressed Olivia a lot. When Olivia is teaching, in addition to conscientiously teaching knowledge, she also attaches great importance to the teaching methods of learning, so that children become better at thinking. In Olivia’s different classes, the children have had a variety of experiences, such as script performances, making posters, making cookies, making lanterns, and so on.

闵行区第六届“希望之星”的评选分为两轮，第一轮是笔试，第二轮是提前一天通知，采取借班上课的形式，也就是说，上课的时间、地点、内容、对象都是未知的，这对于每一个老师来说，都无疑是一个很大的挑战。最初郑老师在面对来自闵行区那么多优秀的有经验的老师一起角逐时，倍感压力，但她用自身的坚持不懈和那股努力的劲儿，最终获得了这来之不易的沉甸甸的“希望之星”称号。回想起像与时间赛跑般的备课的那一天，从课件制作，教案编写，词条制作等每一个细节都争分夺秒的没有放过，她深深感谢每一声加油和支持，也深深体会到所有的经验都会成为日后的财富。加入协和大家庭后的三次组内公开课，一次给英国代表团的展示课，和一次跨校区的探究公开课，每一次，都让郑老师不断历练和成长。

The 6th "Star Of Future" competition in Minhang District is divided into two rounds. The first round is a written test and the second round is having a demo lesson by getting informed only one day in advance. That is, the time, place, content, the students are unknown, which is undoubtedly a great challenge for every teacher. At first, when Olivia faced so many excellent and experienced teachers from Minhang District, she felt pressured, but with her perseverance and hard work, she finally got this hard-won and heavy "Star of Future" award. Recalling the day of preparing the lesson like a race against time, every detail such as courseware production, lesson plan writing, and entry making was time-consuming. She tried to make full use of every minute  and she deeply appreciated every cheering and support, and deeply felt all experience could become future wealth. After joining SUIS Wanyuan family, Olivia had three Longman English open classes in school, one demonstration class for the British delegation, and one cross-campus inquiry class. Olivia has been continuing to grow and improve through each class.

荣获闵行区“希望之星”之后，郑老师与闵行区的英语老师们一起，针对优化单元整体设计，落实单课有效实施，对Oxford English 3BM3U3Seasons 进行单元教材教法分析。从3月13日教研员沈雯晴老师第一次召开希望之星的会议起，在之后近一个月的时间里，频繁的在线会议讨论，微信群内交流，相互分享，碰撞出智慧的火花，也格外感谢教研员沈老师在这一过程中的悉心指导，最终在4月8日，小组共同顺利地完成了这场在线汇报。

After winning the ‘Star of Future’ ，Olivia and other English teachers in Minhang District conducted an effective implementation of a single lesson to optimize the overall design of the unit, and analyzed the teaching materials and teaching methods of Oxford English 3BM3U3 Seasons. Since the first meeting of ‘Star of Future’ held by the Teaching Researcher and Trainer Ms. Shen Wenqing (Tracy) on March 13th, in the next month, they kept having frequent online conference discussions, communication within the WeChat groups, sharing ideas with each other and tried to have perfect details. Special thanks to Ms. Tracy for her careful guidance and valuable advice in this process. On April 8th, the team successfully completed this online report to the whole district.

下学期，郑老师也将继续做一名跨学科教师，她深知经验和坚持都是最宝贵的财富。年级组长黎老师对郑老师送上的祝福让她尤其记忆深刻——所有云淡风轻的潇洒，都是千锤百炼的定格。未来，郑老师前进的脚步不会停，向着更努力，更优秀迈进。

Next semester, Olivia will continue to be a transdisciplinary teacher. She knows that experience and perseverance are the most valuable assets.  The blessing sent by Mr. Jacob, the grade leader, to Olivia made her especially memorable—One could never possess a spirit of limpid and serene without fighting relentlessly to surmount the twists and turns. In the future, Olivia will not stop moving forward, striving towards harder and better.
