疫情期间,为了让广大家长在安全的情况下了解宁波诺德安达的第一手讯息,我校于前两周举行了线上探校活动,吸引了很多家长的关注。


互动期间,我校收到了许多家长的提问,并且由校长和老师一一为家长作答。此次,我们将家长热点问题和校长的回答汇总成文,帮助更多家长解决疑惑并进一步了解宁波诺德安达。

In order to help prospective parents to know more about NAS Ningbo during the epidemic, we have held two online events in the past two weeks that drew many parents’ attention. 


We also received many questions from the parents which were answered by our principal and admission team. This article will help more parents to understand about NAS Ningbo.

“学生高中毕业后的出口?IB课程有哪些优势?”

What are the pathways for high school graduates and advantages of IBDP?

孩子初中毕业之后,会先在高一年级学习一年衔接课程,为IB课程做好充分预热。接下来的两年会全面投入到IB课程的学习当中,并在高三下学期;参加5月左右全球的IB考试。IB与其他课程相比,它是一个全球性的考试,面向到绝大多数国家中的优秀的大学,不仅仅只是针对到英国,美国这些热门的留学国家,还可以去到欧洲,亚洲等地区。我们遇到很多家庭都有自己的规划,比如想把孩子送去俄罗斯学习音乐;有朋友在法国,所以想到法国读大学,所以IB提供的选择面相对更为广阔。我们也希望家长可以在规划孩子的升学方向时,能有更多的选择,世界上还有很多很优秀的大学在其他的非热门留学国家。

After high school, students will take the NAE Pre-IB to get well prepared for the IBDP. Then, they will spend the next two years for the IBDP and take the global IBDP exams in the second semester of senior year in May. Relatively speaking, IBDP does offer more options for students. Not only popular study abroad destinations such as USA and UK are options, but also they can apply to the universities in non-English speaking countries in Europe and Asia. Therefore, IBDP will fulfill different needs and wants for families. We hope that students will a right fit for their study abroad destination.

“相比宁波其他学校,宁波诺德安达有什么样的特色?”

Comparing with other schools, what is the uniqueness of NAS Ningbo?

每个学校都有自己的侧重点,每个学校都很优秀。首先,我们非常重视每个学生的发展,因为我们对孩子的认可,不仅仅只是根据孩子们的学业表现。我们善待我们的孩子,帮助每个孩子都找到他们自己的出路。我们的校训是 Be Ambitious,志在高远,所以我们相信每个孩子都有适合自己的发展路线。那我们就需要给到他们一个平台和更多适合他们的挑战的机会。其二,我们另一个特色是融合,很多家长问我们是比较偏向中方的教育还是外方的教育,其实我们没有偏向于哪一边,我们是一个比较平衡的状态,这样就确保了我们孩子能拥有一个比较大的格局。我们的课程思想是,深耕母语文化,通晓世界语言,依托于我们中外方老师共同合作,相互交流,经常会有思想的碰撞。第三,我们致力于孩子能愉悦地学习,但这不意味着我们放任孩子们的学习,相反是鼓励孩子们在学习过程中发现快乐,找到自己的兴趣点,付出他们的努力。

Each school focuses on different aspects. Firstly, we attach great importance to the development of each student, not just based on their academic performance, but be kind to our children and help to find their way out. Our school’s philosophy is ‘Be Ambitious’, which means that we believe every child has their own growing path, and we provide them with an engaging and challenging platform. Secondly, integrated curriculum is another feature. Students will learn the Chinese culture and western culture at the same times, which help them improve global mindedness, with the help of our excellent teachers. Thirdly, we commit to create an engaging learning environment which makes children love coming to school.

“英语教学方面能否实现分层教学,如何做到?”

How does the school implement hierarchical teaching in English subject?

我们是有分层教学的。我们目前和其他比较大规模的学校有所不同,不是采取分班制的分层教学,而是在我们一个班级实现针对性的差异化教学。在我们学校里,我们的中外教师会布置给我们孩子不同的任务,不同的作业。但我认为,即使在我们这种小班化的教室里,把24个学生分为3组,在每组的8位学生中还是会有差异存在,所以我们不必一定把分层当作为最科学的方法。孩子在不同团体中可以担任不同的角色,比如说,我们学有余力的孩子可以给其他需要帮助的同学做示范,如果能像小老师一样,让其他孩子也理解了,那么他就正在掌握并有所突破了。所以我们的现在的分层,会按照学生的需要去分层,而不是简单根据学生所谓的水平,而且这个是有流动性的。

We do have hierarchical teaching that is different from other large-scale schools, we implement targeted teaching in one class instead of class-based. Specifically, the expat teachers will dispense our children different tasks and assignments. But I think even in small classrooms, 24 students are divided into 3 groups, there will still be different gaps among the 8 students in each group, so we don't necessarily take stratification as the most scientific method. Children can play different roles in different groups. For example, better learners can demonstrate to those need help. So our current stratification will be stratified according to the needs of the students.

“如何吸引到优秀的老师以及师资如何?如何保证教师的稳定性?”

How does the school ensure qualification and stability of teachers?

首先,来到宁波诺德安达的老师都是优秀的,并且他们的教育理念和我们学校是相同的,他们也很渴望进步。教师对于我们学校来说呢,和我们学生一样,都很重要。好的老师能给到学生们一个积极的影响,因此我们是非常重视各位老师的发展。第一,他们都有一个很好的薪资保证。其次,选择了我们诺德安达,也就是选择了全球资源。在过去的一年半里,我们老师就分别去过美国,英国,新加坡,香港等各个地方进行培训。在诺德安达,来自29个国家,66所学校的老师都能得到相应的培训。我们有老师已经参加了我们合作的顶尖大学King's College London的硕士班,有的也参加了我们全球中层管理的培训,还有更多平台的培训机会,我们在这方面是很舍得在老师身上花经费的。另外一点,我经常跟老师们说,你们就是我们学校的主人,不断完善教学内容,认真负责好自己的教学任务,是我们神圣的职责。老师们也热情主动地投身于教育。

Teachers are just as important to our school as students. Good teachers can really have a positive impact on students, so we highly emphasize the development of each teacher. First of all, they all have a good salary guarantee. Secondly, choosing Nord Anglia means they have access to global resources. In the past year and a half, our teachers have gone to the United States, UK, Singapore, Hong Kong and other places for training. In Nord Anglia, teachers from 66 schools in 29 countries are trained accordingly. Some of our teachers have already participated in the master degree course of KCL. Some have also participated in our global middle management training, and there are more training opportunities for various platforms.

“学校怎么来平衡课内教育和课外教育?”

How to balance between core curriculum and Extra-curricular education?

对于学校来说,课内和课外教育都是学校课程重要的部分。课内教育是我们课程的主战场;课外教育可以是孩子的兴趣培养平台,也可以是我们课内学科教育的有效延伸,应该统筹安排。课内教育会有知识的传递,技能的传递,而课外的平台可以提供一个巩固和运用的机会。如果孩子有自己的兴趣,我是很鼓励孩子们去实践和发展;如果在时间上有影响学科学习,我们也不必立刻停止他继续这个兴趣的发展,因为每个孩子都是不一样的。比如我们有的孩子去参加高尔夫,马术的比赛,错过了部分学科的课堂学习。我觉得只要老师和家长们配合好,在后面把这些内容补上,是一点问题都没有的。我们孩子是需要获得各类知识,眼界要宽广,这样他才能发现自己喜欢于哪个领域,擅长什么技能,这样才能开拓出属于自己的道路。

They are both important and should be integrated. ECA is an extension to cultivate children's interests. Children learn courses and skills from the core curriculum, which could be consolidated and implemented in extra-curricular classrooms. If children have their own interests, I encourage them to develop. If Chinese or mathematics is affected, we don’t have to stop them from keeping hobbies, for every child is different. I think that as long as the teachers and parents cooperate well and teach them academic content later, there will be no problem at all. Our children need to acquire all kinds of knowledge to broaden their horizons, so that they can find out their favorite fields and directions, then as to explore their own way out.
