北京诺德安达双语学校将于2019年9月开学,为一至九年级的学生提供以国家课程为核心的双语数学课程。我曾在国际学校从事双语数学教学多年,下面是我教学中的一些心得,与大家分享。

首先,教师需要有丰富的中文数学的教学经验;其次,教师要有较高的英语水平,能用英语进行思考和流利的清晰表达;第三,教师要有整合国家课程和英文资料的能力。

双语数学教学不能上成英语课,必须要有数学学科特质。数学教师需要非常熟悉《义务教育数学课程》标准和北京市课程要求,深刻理解《四基》,即基础知识、基本技能、基本思想、基本活动经验。“双语数学教学”从根本上而言,仍然是数学教学,只是这是一种在中英双语状态下的数学教学,不可以因为双语教学而背离课标的“四基”要求。因此教学法要遵循数学课的生成教学,使学生的思维能力能到应有的锻炼和提升。

在双语数学教学中英语语言要服务于数学教学活动。传统的数学教学在母语环境下开展,学生没有语言理解上的障碍,但是它在促进学生英语能力的提升和发展学生的国际理解能力方面是不足的,而实施双语教育的优势也正在于此。

我相信通过师生的共同努力,我校的学生能够在数学课上用娴熟的中英双语进行学习,与中外教师无障碍探讨和解决数学问题。


Nord Anglia School Beijing Fangshan will open in September 2019, offering bilingual mathematics concentrated in national curriculum for students from Grade 1 to Grade 9. I have been engaged in bilingual mathematics teaching in international schools for many years and I am very glad to share some of my teaching experiences with you.

Firstly, teachers should have rich teaching experience in Chinese mathematics. Secondly, teachers should have a high level of English language, be able to think in English and express clearly and fluently. Thirdly, teachers should be able to integrate national curriculum and English teaching materials.


Bilingual mathematics teaching cannot be taught like English classes. It should have the characteristics of mathematics discipline. Mathematics teachers should be very familiar with the "compulsory education mathematics course" criteria and Beijing curriculum requirements, and have a deep understanding of the "four basics": basic knowledge, basic skills, basic ideas and basic activity experience. "Bilingual mathematics teaching" is still mathematics teaching fundamentally, but it is a kind of mathematics teaching in the state of Chinese-English bilingualism, which should not deviate from the "four basic" requirements of the curriculum standard. Therefore, the teaching method should follow the generative teaching of mathematics class, so that students' thinking ability can be properly exercised and improved. Bilingual math class can not be treated as English class.

English language should serve mathematics teaching activities in bilingual mathematics teaching. Traditional mathematics teaching is carried out in the mother tongue environment, and students do not have obstacles in language understanding, but it is insufficient in promoting the improvement of students' English ability and developing students' international understanding ability, and the advantage of implementing bilingual education is also in this.

I believe that our students can use fluent Chinese and English to study in math class and discuss and solve math problems with Chinese and foreign teachers without obstacles through the joint efforts of teachers and students.
