“校长晨间咖啡活动”同样给到了家长们和校长共话校园大小事的机会,在这个学期的第一次“校长晨间咖啡会”上,Nick West和徐冷吉校长直面家长们的疑问给出解答。我们听到了来自家长最真实的反馈,校长们也和家长们在教育理念上产生了有趣的碰撞。

在近日举办的学生会选举中,我们的中学部包揽了活动策划,现场布置及疏导工作。选举活动中,拉票方式创意满分,有表演,有游戏还有精心制作的小礼品。我们欣喜地看到我们学生的无限潜力。

自主能力的培养也体现到了校外:我校5名中学生在演讲比赛中获得了包揽了一二三等奖,从选题到准备演讲稿,都由我们的学生自主完成,为他们的好成绩点赞!

学校在建的二期工程进展如何?

全新的中学校区和共享空间在明年九月就要和大家见面了!
在这个崭新的校区里,我们将会新增一栋中学部教学楼,还会有一栋表演艺术中心和体育馆大楼,其中包含两个新的游泳池和一间550座的礼堂,学生可以在更专业的剧院里体验艺术的魅力。此外,我们还将增设两个新的食堂和一个九层的宿舍,届时可容寄宿人数将增至现在的三倍。
对于高年级的同学们来说,学习上的关注自然少不了。IB课程是家长关心的热点话题,提问不断。

IB课程质量怎么保证?

诺德安达教育集团在全世界29个国家有66所集团内的姐妹学校。我们与这些学校间的交流极其密切,我们的孩子身在本国就能通过全球校园平台享受真正的国际化教育资源,并培养全球性的视野。
每年诺德安达教育集团三分之一的学生进入世界前100名大学深造。在2018-2019学年,诺德安达教育集团的学生在IB成绩上继续保持高于世界平均水平,IB通过率达到93%,大大高于全球平均率78%,学生平均成绩为33分,高于全球成绩10%。我校第一届学生在今年6月毕业,IB课程通过率为100%,他们也都去到了想去的学校。
站在巨人的肩膀上,我们对于IB课程有着多年的成功教学经验。

IB课程培养什么能力?

在诺德安达,我们重视孩子的兴趣,成绩不是最终考核的唯一标准。因为我们要教会学生懂得为自己所爱的付出努力,而不是只为了分数拼命刷题。
就比如,选择视觉艺术的学生需要提交一份经过研究和自我创作的作品来展示。在这个过程中,学生要学会自己去迎接各种各样的问题,并学会自己解决。
过程,远比结果重要。

初升高怎么过渡?

社会责任感,是IB课程非常强调的核心素养。我们从初中阶段就开始通过不同的实践项目来锻炼我们的学生。
初中部的学生曾做过一个制作太阳能灯的实验项目。老师并没有详细解释实验原理,而是告诉学生在过程中需要收集的相关知识。接下来,学生们需要合作完成实验的全过程。最后这些灯被运往了非洲的卢旺达,而运输费用也是学生众筹来的。
社会责任感,公民意识的养成,为IB的学习打下扎实的基础。

What interesting activities have students participated in at NACIS Shanghai?

In the recent student union election, our secondary students took charge of the planning, site decoration and guidance work.
During the election, the creative canvassing was a highlight – there were performances, games and exquisitely-designed gifts. We were delighted to see the infinite potential of our students.

The cultivation of independence was reflected outside the school: in a speech contest, five secondary students won the first, second and third prizes.
From topic selection to preparation, they completed all the work by themselves. Let’s applaud for their achievements!

How is the Phase 2 going on?

Our new secondary building and shared areas will be available next September!
In Phase 2, there will be a new building for secondary, a performing arts centre as well as a new sports hall, which includes two new swimming-pools and a 550-seater auditorium. This will be where our students can perform in music, drama or dance in a specialist theatre to a large audience.
In addition, We will have two new canteens and a 9-storey boarding facility to potentially triple our boarding numbers.
For Secondary students, academic progress is the focus and IB program is always the hot topic among parents.

How to guarantee the teaching quality of IB?

NAE has 66 schools in 29 countries around the world and we have close contact with these schools. Our global campus connects our students, giving them access to international education resources and cultivate global vision.
Each year, one in three of NAE students attend the top 100 universities. In the 2018-2019 academic year, The average score of NAE students in the IB Diploma was ahead of the global average. The IB pass rate reached 93%, significantly higher than the global average of 78%.
The average score of students was 33, 10% higher than the global average.
Our first batch of students graduated in June this year with 100% IB passing rate, and they were all accepted by their ideal university.
Therefore, we have had successful teaching experience in IB program for many years.

What abilities are developed in IB program?

At NAE, we value students' interests. Score is not the only criterion for final assessment. Because we expect our students to work hard for what they love, not just for scores.
For example, students who choose visual arts are required to submit a research and self-created work for display. In the process, students should learn to face and solve all kinds of problems by themselves.
The process is far more important than the result.

How about the transition from the preparatory stage to the secondary stage?


徐校长
Social responsibility is the core quality of IB stage. We cultivate our students through various practical projects from the preparatory stage.
Students in the preparatory stage once did an experiment project to make solar lamps. The teacher explained the relevant knowledge to be collected in the process instead of teaching the experiment principals in detail. Next, the students need to complete the experiment through cooperation. The lights were eventually shipped to Rwanda in Africa, and the cost was also crowdfunded by the students.
The cultivation of social responsibility and civic consciousness have laid a solid foundation for IB learning.
