比利唐本名陈梦魁，是一名马来西亚华裔画师，曾在美漫界担任DC漫画和漫威漫画的画师，2015年到中国创作国产超级英雄漫画《武零后》。出生于马来西亚槟城的比利唐在他很小的时候就非常喜爱绘画。后来去了美国学习绘画，并于1995年在Top Cow开始了他的漫画职业生涯。

2004年，比利唐作为X-23系列作品的线稿师加入了漫威漫画公司。在X-23系列成功之后，他又参与创作了《神奇X战警》、《新复仇者联盟》、《金刚狼》以及《终极战队》等。2012年加入DC漫画公司，参与创作《绿灯侠》。在西方国家居住了20年之后，他搬到了中国上海，并创建了自己的漫画公司唐漫。

Billy Tan Mung Khoy is a Chinese Malaysian comic artist who worked for Detective Comics and Marvel Comics. In 2015, he came to China and created the superhero comics “The saga of martial-arts”. Born in Penang, Malaysia, Billy Tan has been fond of drawing since he was a child. He went to the United States and began his career in comics at Top Cow in 1995. 

In 2004, Billy Tan moved on to Marvel Comics where he became the artist for the series X-23. After the success of this series, he began working on “The Uncanny X-Men”, “New Avengers”, “Wolverine” and “The Ultimates”, etc. Then in 2012, he joined in Detective Comics and created “Green Lantern”. After staying in western countries for 20 years, he moved to Shanghai, China, and established his own company Tan Comics.

比利唐先生在3、4岁的时候就开始对画画感兴趣，但一直到大学快毕业的时候，他才决定要将漫画作为事业。那是因为他不曾想到漫画可以做到如此极致，因此被当时看到的漫画震慑到了。

虽然比利已是非常成功的漫画家，但不断进步的科技还是影响了他的创作。同时，阅读习惯与西方完全不同的中国读者、漫画出版频率的提高，都给他的创作带来了压力。但是比利对漫画的热情不减，因为对他来说，画画能让他完全沉浸在自己的奇妙世界里，是解压的好方法。

创造性也是一样。比利相信一个人要创作，就必须努力让这件事变得有趣。因为只有你心情愉悦，才能创作出最佳作品。

对于那些也想以漫画为生的年轻人，比利建议大家首先要上一些艺术课，并且在初期大量练习绘画。以为要当一个漫画家，你的漫画创作就像拍电影一样，需要又当导演，又当摄像师，又当布景，总之什么都要会，什么都要画。

在本期节目中，比利还分享了在唐漫工作与在漫威工作有什么区别、创意枯竭的时候怎么办，以及如何在现有角色上再创作等等各种故事，现在就让我们一起来倾听吧。

Billy Tan started his interest in drawing when he was 3 or 4. But he didn’t decide to make it a career until the last year of college. At that time he was blown away by the fineness of comics and decided to try comics as a career. 

He is quite successful, but the developing technology still impacts his creation. Meanwhile the reading habit of the Chinese and Western readers, the timing constraints of the comic creation in China also give him pressure. However, Billy enjoys drawing a lot because when he draws, he’s in the world of his own fantasy - it serves as a stress relief.

So is creation. Billy believes that one should try his/her best to have fun while doing creative work, because it's only when you're happy, you can do your best work.

For those who are looking to find a career in comic book illustration, Billy suggest them to take some art classes, and start by drawing a lot. Because being a comic book artist, you are basically the director of a film, and the photographer, scene setting and everything.  You need to learn to draw everything.
