On March 17th, the whole Grade 5 went to the Kun Opera. The Kun Opera is an old part of culture in China. In the Kun Opera there are costumes and accessories exhibited on shelves and walls to tell you about the history of the opera. Next, we went upstairs to one of the practice rooms. Mirrors surrounded the room and barrels were firmly stuck on to the mirrors. A few costumes hung on the barrels and on the ground, there were fake weapons and flags and instruments that the actors use to practice for the performances. Later, we were brought to the auditorium where all of the characters were introduced and each of them performed for us. Some of the students and teachers were called on stage to practice with the performers and wore make up too! It was really a fun day and we really enjoyed it!
