“舞台新星”的冬季庆祝活动 ECA’s Winter Celebration

在2018年ECA冬季庆祝活动开场，由我校24名学生组成的管弦乐团为大家演奏了两首墨西哥节日歌曲，他们的精彩演奏令观众赞叹不已。之后，他们演奏了《德国圣诞颂歌》和《木星》，为庆典增添了浓浓的节日气氛。邹启洋同学还为大家带来了木琴独奏，他轻快的动作和优美的乐声让所有观众沉浸其中。

接下来，一支中国传统乐团演奏了《奇迹》，王思茗同学和朱希喆同学的二重唱表演用美妙的声音打造出了一个宁静祥和的世界。

当观众还陶醉在古典的气息中，音乐剧《玛蒂尔达》为舞台注入了活力。紧随其后的苗族舞蹈，以优美的舞姿和精彩纷呈的杂技动作，令在场观众兴奋不已。之后，我校合唱团演唱了《漫步神光中》和《萧瑟隆冬》将观众带回了圣诞的氛围中，爵士乐团则演奏了酷派爵士《当阳光变蓝》。最后，活动在合唱团《圣诞老人要来了》的歌声中落下了帷幕。

 
在第一场精彩的艺术表演活动之后，第二场我们又迎来了戏剧部的学生们也在冬季戏剧节中展示了他们本学期的学习成果。同学们演绎了一个志存高远的作品——莎士比亚的《哈姆雷特》。观众们坐在剧场的四周，主演潘宫羽同学和其他演员在这个悲剧作品中表演得非常出色，他们深情并茂地演绎了莎士比亚的经典台词，把观众带入到了角色的世界中，同时也收获了许多。随后，我们看到了一些未来的舞台新星。在小学部的戏剧ECA演出中，四名学生演绎了叙事诗《蜘蛛和苍蝇》——戏剧化地讲述欺骗和勇敢的故事。这些年轻小演员们前途无量！最后，校音乐剧部给大家带来了三首来自音乐剧《玛蒂尔达》的歌舞表演。在学习了许多歌词并加上舞蹈动作后，学生们满怀激情和热情的演出给观众留下了意犹未尽的感觉。

感谢家长和老师的付出，我们期待着看到学生再次登上舞台的时刻。

‘Woos’and ‘ahs’ came from the audience as our adorable 24 members Junior Orchestra charmed the whole audience with two Mexican holiday songs. The NACIS Orchestra’s grandiose sound impressed, playing ‘German Christmas Carols’ and ‘Jupiter’ adding to the celebratory atmosphere of the event. Andy Zou’s marimba solo mesmerized the audience with his fast moving mallets.

A traditional Chinese instrument ensemble played Miracle, and a duet (Appel Wang, Siri Zhu) gave the audience the serenity of wonderful sound.

Musical Theatre’s energy broke through this reminiscent movement and charged onto the stage with Matilda. The dance troupe Miao Girls’ delicate hand and foot gestures and acrobatic movements made the whole audience excited and happy. The NACIS choir brought us back to a Christmas mood with ‘Siyahamba’ and ‘In the Bleak Midwinter’. Jazz Ensemble played cool jazz ‘When Sunny Gets Blue’ and finished off with Santa Clause is Coming to Town with the choir. It was really an enjoyable show. 

 
To finish the week of exciting Performing Arts events, the Drama department shared their work from the first ECA cycle in the first Winter Drama Festival. Actor Training ECA presented an ambitious production of Shakespeare’s ‘Hamlet’ - with audience seated on all four sides of the action. Lead by Gregory Pan (Grade 8) as the title role, the ensemble of actors performed beautifully this most tragic of plays, drawing the audience into the world of the characters, delivering origin Shakespeare lines with confidence and expression. A wonderful achievement by all. Following this, we saw some stars of the future with 4 members of Primary Drama ECA delivering a fantastic rendition of the narrative poem - ‘The Spider and the Fly’ - a dramatic tale of deceit and bravery. The future is certainly very bright for these young actors! Finally, three wonderful songs were performed from ‘Matilda the Musical’ by the NACIS Musical Theatre Society. With lots of words to learn and some amazing choreography too, the students brought energy and passion to the performance, leaving the audience wanting more!
