We are now in our 7th week of remote learning and it has certainly been a learning opportunity for everyone! Our teachers have been demonstrating their dedication to making sure children are learning and gaining from a high-quality curriculum, so much so that they are working very long hours, often 7 days a week. We want to show our gratitude to these professionals and acknowledge the work they have done to make this happen.
Each week we look at feedback and make adjustments to ensure that we are better meeting the needs of all learners and supporting our amazing parent team, who, it is noted, are also working full time and making sure the learning is happening with their children. This is not an easy time and we appreciate how everyone is coming together to support. We will continue to listen and adjust our learning as remote learning continues.
转眼已是远程教学开展的第七周，这对每个人来说无疑都是一个学习的大好时机！我们的教学团队一直在不断努力，以确保学生们从优质的课程中有所学、有所获。这对老师们也是极大的挑战，他们每天需要长时间地在线工作。让我们向这群专业教学者们致以诚挚的敬意，感谢老师们所做的努力和贡献。
每周我们都会收集反馈建议并及时进行调整，来更好地满足各位学习者的需求，并给予我们的家长更多支持。值得一提的是，家长们在一边工作的同时，还要不遗余力地监督孩子们在家的学习情况，感谢学习社区中每一个参与者齐心协力、共克时艰。我们将继续聆听对远程学习计划的建议与意见，进一步改进与完善我们的课程。
Our Remote Learning Achievements
G1 students were asked to review animal groups and to create an animal parade. They also uesd things around their homes to create Venn diagrams to compare two animals. They showed their awareness of protecting the habitat.
低年级同学在复习动物相关知识中，学会如何有序地进行归类和排序。他们还使用了维恩图对所学动物知识进行对比，在主动探究中表达了自己参与栖息地保护的美好愿望。

Music and Art
Students from SUIS have been very actively involved in their music learning through online lessons. Music students have not allowed distance learning to stop their excitement about music and learning. Of course, we are all really looking forward to getting back to the classroom and being part of a musical ensemble. A musical experience is always better when shared with others.

The powerpoint activity on the String Family of the orchestra required students to research and write down 3 interesting facts about each string instrument. This was followed by a listening activity after which students had to write down a description of what that particular instrument sounded like. These were some of their wonderful and delightful reflections that showed much of their imagination and creativity:

G1 students are learning about patterns. They were inspired by artist Rometo Britto's colourful and joyful artworks to create their own. G2 students are learning about radial balance, symmetry and positive and negative space. Our talented little artists created gorgeous artworks using their newly gained knowledge.

Pi Day！
March 14th is the annual Π day, also regarded as our international Maths Festival, which is a happy fun day for students and teachers. Do you remember last year's scene in the lobby of the Lion Building where we were all challenging ourselves to recite PI? What an exciting moment!
This year, because of the Coronavirus, we are not together in person but this will not stop us celebrating. We will come together on the screen! Our teachers creatively designed lots of fun activities that many students actively and enthusiastically participated in. We collected pictures of all of the wonderful work students submitted! Thank you all for your hard work and creative ideas!

今年的国际数学节，因为疫情的关系，我们被相隔在了屏幕前，可是这并没有阻挡住我们庆祝节日的热情，老师们用心地策划安排，同学们积极地参与互动，让我们大家一起来感受当天别开生面的在线活动吧！
We have some exciting events coming up in the next couple of weeks. On Friday 27 March, we will have a special Maths Day. Additionally, Mr Smart is preparing for the fist ever, remote Talent Show.
Once again, we thank our parents, our teachers, our admin and tech teams for everything that they have done, whilst working around the clock. We could no do this alone and we value all contributions.
