NACIS糕点义卖拯救先天性心脏病患者NACIS Charity Bake Sale

今年6月4日，诺德安达在校内举办了一场糕点义卖活动，来自诺、德、安、达4个学院的孩子们分别为4家慈善机构 - SCAA（伴侣动物领养及援助之家）、春晖儿童救助公益基金会、Hello Kids以及上海慈善基金会心连心专项基金募集到了16365元的善款。

我们很高兴地得知，因为我校糕点义卖为上海慈善基金会心连心专项基金筹集到的善款，16岁的女孩云倩（化名）终于有机会接受了心脏手术。2005年6月，云倩前往建瓯市立医院以及建瓯市第一人民医院检查和治疗肺炎时，医生发现她不幸罹患先天性心脏病。多年以来，女孩一直在等待手术的机会，但她的家庭根本无力支付高额的医疗和手术费用。

由于我校的筹款，云倩终于在8月21日接受了心脏手术。她的术后康复进行得很顺利，上一学年各学院的负责同学很幸运地能够前往医院探望她。他们不仅了解了在糕点义卖中筹集的善款用到了哪里，还感受到了这些善款可以对他人的人生带来巨大的改变。

同学们很高兴能够通过善举改变他人的生活。或许在此之前他们还未曾意识到，在中国还有这么多贫困人口。贫困不仅仅是世界的问题，也会发生在身边。他们提高了对许多可持续发展目标的认识，包括：陆上生命、素质教育、消除贫困、健康与福利等。

我们衷心为他们在糕点义卖中取得的收获感到骄傲，希望我们能够继续帮助他们实现自己的价值目标。

 

NACIS Charity Bake Sale Helped Congenital Heart Defect Patient

On June 4 this year, NACIS held a charity bake sale at the campus. Students from our four Houses (Honesty, Integrity, Serenity and Fortitude) actively took part in it and raised 16,365 Yuan respectively for four charity organizations: SCAA, Chunhui Children, Hello Kids and Heart2Heart Shanghai.

We are happy to know that a 16 year old girl, Yunqian, who was able to have an operation due to the donation to this Heart2Heart from NACIS’s bake sale. Yunqian was waiting years for this operation, but her family never had the funds to pay for it. 

In June 2005, Yunqian was taken to Jianou Municipal Hospital and Jianou First People’s Hospital for examination and treatment of pneumonia. The doctors found that she had congenital heart disease. The family couldn’t afford the medical treatment.

Due to NACIS’s generosity, Yunqian was able to have her open heart surgery on August 21. She is recovering quickly and the House Captains from last year were lucky enough to get to visit Yunqian in hospital. It allowed them to see where the money raised by the Bake Sale was used and the difference they had made in someone else’s life.

The students were delighted to be able to make a difference in someone’s life and did not realise that there were so many poor people in China. They became globally aware that poverty does not only happen in other countries but also in their own. They helped build awareness for many of our sustainable development goals including Life on Land, Quality Education, No Poverty and Health and Wellbeing. 

We at NACIS are so proud of all that the students achieved during this Charity Bake Sale and we hope to continue helping the students reach their goals.
