Last but not least, we would like to share with you a piece of good news: G12 Jenny Sun, our first high school graduate to be, was admitted to Northeastern University in the U.S., a Top 40 university according to the U.S. News and World Report. She previously received an offer from Pennsylvania State University and is looking forward to more offers. We are extremely proud of Jenny and congratulate her and her family for the achievement.

最后，我们想与您分享一个好消息：12年级的Jenny Sun同学，也将是HQIS第一个高中毕业生，最近被美国的东北大学录取了，东北大学全美排名前40，是一所顶尖的综合性大学。之前，Jenny已经被宾州州立大学录取，她还在等待更多顶尖大学的录取。我们以她为荣，并祝贺她和她的家庭。

Upper School E-Learning Program

We at HQIS strive to maintain the highest standards of academic rigor, and all HQIS leadership and teachers are passionate about providing the highest quality E-Learning instruction in alignment with our Upper School curriculum. We guarantee a high standard of student learning, independence, and thorough preparation for University.

在HQIS，我们严格遵守最高标准的学术要求，所有HQIS领导团队和老师都以此最高标准来设计和执行我们的远程教学，落实我们常规的中学部课程。我们确保学生有最高质量的学习能力和自主能力，为将来进入大学做好充分的准备。

To meet requirements of our stringent learning pace, learning objectives, and as well as ensure each students’ adequate preparation for assessments, it is critical that your child access their E-Learning each day as per their regular school schedule. Our official channel for E-Learning in Upper School is ManageBac. All Upper School teachers will be adhering to the same amount of instructional hours as per regular school schedules.

为了让学生能够紧跟我们严格的学习进度，达到学习目标，并且为之后的考试做好了准备，我们要求学生每天按照常规学校时间表进行远程学习。我们远程学习的官方平台是ManageBac系统，所有中学部老师都会和常规学校时间一样，通过各种方式对学生授课，并且指导和要求学生完成相应的作业。

All specifications for E-Learning will be communicated via your child's ManageBac account each day. Our second official channel for communication is via HQIS Email. It is vital that your child log in to their ManageBac account each morning Monday-Friday to complete their daily lessons, tasks, assignments and more. It is important that your child does not view this period of E-Learning as a vacation. Students should maintain their regular school schedule during this time and are advised that all assignments are to be submitted by the due dates established by respective teachers.

我们老师每天都会通过ManageBac，给学生布置远程学习的详细内容，同时我们也会用HQIS电子邮箱与大家进行沟通。我们要求您的孩子周一到周五，每天早上登录ManageBac系统，完成当天的学习、任务、作业和其他学习内容。请确保您的孩子理解这段时间不是假期，学生应当像在学校一样，按照课程表的时间学习，并且在各科老师指定的截止日期前提交作业。

Frequent communication between students and teachers during this time is imperative and will allow your child to receive timely feedback, updates, and other helpful information. Should your child have any questions about their classes please email your subject teacher as soon as possible. (All Upper School Teachers and Leadership contact information can be found in your email.)

让孩子在这段时间里持续与老师保持联系非常重要，这也能让孩子及时地收到老师的反馈、更新和其他有用的信息，如果您的孩子有任何关于学习的问题，请他们一定要第一时间联系老师。（所有中学部老师和领导团队的联系方式都附在邮件）。

Lastly, in accordance with recent events concerning the Novel coronavirus, HQIS has decided to cancel our HS Week Without Walls trip to Chiang Mai, Thailand, originally scheduled for March 23-27. Our utmost priority is the safety of our students. All families that have submitted deposit payments for the trip have received a full refund. Thank you for your understanding.

最后,考虑到近期的疫情，我们决定取消高中部原定于3月23-27日去泰国清迈的学习考察之旅，我们把学生的健康和安全放在第一位，所有之前提交定金的家长应该已经收到了全额退款，感谢您的理解。

The challenge of the quarantine on the continuity of our HQIS students’ learning also presents an opportunity for our students to actively take on the role of inquiry-oriented learners. The following are some examples of homework from our students. Let’s celebrate their learning together!
