从事国际化教育近二十年，经常被家长问及：孩子到你这里能考到前几名的大学？今天，我就和大家聊一聊如何正确的看待孩子的考试成绩。

如果把孩子送到国际化学校的目标只是为了考上大学，亲爱的家长，您的要求太低了。人的一生大到解决社会问题，小到求得自然界的一席生存之地，学业考试、求职测试、创业测评、寻求发展……何处不考试，何时不评估？如何在有限的12年内，培养孩子面对一生的考试，考出优异的成绩， 获得满意的人生答卷的能力，是南通诺德安达双语学校的一个重要办学目标。

身心健康发展是我们获得终生幸福的首要条件。学校配有标准的室内体育馆、恒温游泳池，室外运动场；有专业的心理指导教师，专业的中外体育教师；课程设置有足够的体育课、不同的运动俱乐部。中西方音乐、戏剧、视觉艺术浸润着孩子宁静的心灵，这里的孩子将拥有强健的体魄，阳光般的眼睛。

比起注重知识本身，学校更注重引导学生思考学科核心思想和应用知识解决实际问题的能力。如数学会利用“联系”这一概念引导学生分析理解不同函数间的变化、不同学科间的联系，引导学生通过一个个宽泛的概念将零散的知识网络化，培养他们举一反三的学习能力，并将这种能力迁移到不熟悉的情境中，创造性地解决问题，在解决问题中修正对知识的理解。学校配有上万册的中外图书资源，上万册的电子图书，为学生提供研究性学习的条件，在探究中获得学习的乐趣，从而取得优异的学业成绩。

在这里，教师会在课堂上有意识的设置不同的情境鼓励学生表达自己的观点，倾听他人的意见；在这里，每一个活动都是孩子们的舞台，升旗仪式、辩论演讲、模拟联合国、中西方文化分享等，每一个孩子都将站在前面，大胆地说出自己的心声；在这里，打破年龄的界限，在诺、德、安、达四个学院里，参与学校事务管理，在管理中学会与他人交流、合作、解决问题。

I have been working in international education for almost 20 years, and parents often ask me: is it possible for my child to go to the top universities if he or she attends your school? The goal of sending a child to an international school is far more than just to get them into good colleges. During our lifetime, we have to find our own place and deal with social problems, and take all kinds of "tests", from academic exams, job interviews to work assessments, etc. Therefore,  exams and assessment will always be a part of our lives. How to help a child to learn to face his/her lifetime of "exams" and get excellent results in 12 years' time, is one of the important goals of NAS Nantong.

The healthy development of mind and body is the primary condition for lifelong happiness. Our school is equipped with a standard indoor gymnasium, heated swimming pool, and outdoor sports field. We have professional counselor, full-time Chinese and international physical education teachers, balanced physical education classes in our curriculum and various sports clubs. The students will build a strong body and beautiful mind due to our Chinese and Western music, drama, and visual art courses.

Our school pays more attention to guiding students to think about the core ideas of subjects and building their ability to apply knowledge to solve practical problems, instead of only focusing on learning knowledge itself. For example, our Mathematics teacher will guide students to analyze and understand the changes between different functions and the connections between different disciplines, and help students integrate their knowledge through broad concepts in order to cultivate their learning ability. They will then guide students to use this ability in unfamiliar situations and try to solve problems in a creative way. This process will also help them to adjust their understanding of the knowledge they learnt.  Our school has a range of books in Chinese, English and other languages as well as e-books, providing students with research-based learning conditions and interesting experiences during their learning process, so as to achieve excellent academic results.

Here, teachers will consciously set up different situations in the classroom to encourage students to express their opinions and listen to others' points of view. Each activity is a learning experience for our children, such as the flag raising ceremony, debating, Model United Nations, and sharing of their understanding of the Chinese and Western culture. Every child will share his/her ideas in front of the class. We break the age limit by letting our students participate in school affairs management in our four houses: Nuo House - Honesty, De House - Integrity, An House - Serenity, and Da House - Fortitude. The students will learn to communicate and cooperate with others to solve problems.

Comparing with test-oriented approach of teaching and learning, our school encourages students to be ambitious and focus on the learning and assessment process. We help students to reflect on their learning process, adjust their ways of studying, and deal with adversity with a positive attitude. No matter how fast the world changes and what kind of "exams " they are taking in their lives, I believe the students of NAS Nantong will be able to achieve satisfactory results.
